I actually have a half sleeve on my right arm. It was my first and is basically a depiction of "paradise". I have green mountain peaks in the background, a palm tree w/ coconut, a bright blue wave and some sand with a hula girl doin a little dance. My plan is to finish it down to the wrist with an underwater scene that was inspired by my honeymoon in St. John. I have a nautical star inside my forearm and i want a sea turtle swimming towards that. I will throw in an octopus and some other local fish to be decided. Just need to finish the one i started on my side and then i will move on to the St. John piece. Cant wait!

I wonder if you did the smiley face skull and crossbones like the Beach Bar if you could manage to get free drinks

I have a seahorse on my right ankle that I just love and a small shark on my inside ankle.

I have a friend in STT that does tattoos and he's really really good. He's coming back to the states in November, so I'm just going to make a bracelet of different sea creatures around my ankle. All small.

or, maybe a toe ring hook bracelet

or: a small urchin

or: A Bottle of Carib and/or a bottle of Cruzan Rum

Personally, I'd get a tattoo of a donkey. Maybe a donkey lazing under a palm tree.

Or bannaquits perched on the side a a sugar bowl with trumpet vine entwined all around.

Fun!

I hate to sound dumb...but what is a petroglyph? I've had two tattoo's done in STT right in Havensight; the latest one was a hybiscus done in the upper middle of my back by a guy named "Donut". I am very please with it. It seems as though the only time I can get the courage to up get one is while I am in STT. Go figure...

I have a good friend that is an extremely talented tattoo artist, so I just have to show him a pic and he will create me a work of art, that I am sure of.

I guess I need to send him some pics and see what he comes up with.

When she turns 40, the Mrs plans to get a tattoo...or 3 if you ask her. A gecko, a turtle and a petroglyph.

I intend to jump in and get a petroglyph but don't know where. Unless we wait a few years and put it on my skull, there's not much of me that's not gonna make it look like a petroglyph mated with Chewbacca.

Congrats on your weight loss that is fantastic. You surely deserve to treat yourself for your accomplishment. I have always wanted a tattoo but keep chickening out. When I finally get up the nerve I know mine will also be a reminder of STJ. I have thought of the petroglyph, but the hook bracelet idea also sounds kinda cool. I think the suggestion for the numbing cream sounds great. That might be just what I need since they say you are not supposed to drink prior. Best of luck and congrats again.

kma27- Petroglyphs in general: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petroglyph

If you only go to STT and not STJ, that's probably why you haven't heard of them :)

STJ petroglyphs:

Perhaps you've seen STJ petroglyph jewelry before?:

Caneel Bay also uses the STJ petroglyph for its logo:

Teresa_Rae...thank you very much! For a long time I have wondered what that was and didn't want to ask and now I know. I do visit STJ but I just prefer STT and it seems like I am pretty much alone on that subject on this forum but I still enjoy reading what everyone has to say. Many thanks...

I said I was going to get a tatoo once I hit our one year anniversary of being on island. But I can't think of what I want or where. I also was thinking about a petroglyph, something small without a whole lot of detail. I definitely like the idea of the numbing cream so I will check that out.

Let us know what you decide and good luck! :-)
