posting from my villa gravity day on at john to tell you to stay. We all have something in common, a love for this wonderful island. Stop reading the things that upset you and focus on the beautiful parts. The water, the views, the people... These are things we all can agree on.

It's a beautiful night here on st. John. I wish you the peace I feel right now.

Very well said, Liamsaunt. Thanks for taking the time to speak up from the island. Hopefully Margo will hear your kind words.

Unless I misread something...and I have a very good memory...the expressions of the one who started this particular run of ill feelings are not worthy of the slightest contemplation...none of us should be tempted by snarly troublemakers who like to hurt feelings and gossip. I am speaking personally in my use of adjectives...

While any one of us might find complaint with some aspect of the interaction and communication here, this forum is a wonderful place to share facts and opinions on everything St John. Surely, we are adult enough to respect the right of others to have a different opinion at times. When over 2000 people have the right to speak up whenever they wish on any subject here, courtesy and respect are most necessary; it is our differences that stimulate new ideas and visions, that make us interesting.

Now deep breaths for me...I've spoken way too much today...then I'll read VickiH's terrific trip report again.

Think about the ratio of helpful fun posts you make compared to the number of posts you’ve made on “controversial” topics. Then think about the same ratios of the usual suspects over there on the Off Topic forum. Its painfully obvious that most of them live for that stuff. You don’t. You’re a valuable, respectful contributor here. Not sure if the same can be said about some of the others you are tangled up with right now. That should give you some perspective on where you stand here.

St. John brings people together not tears them apart.
I agree with Ruth think about it for 24 hrs Margo.
We all came here for the same reason..our love of a really tiny island that loves us back.
St. John is magic and it has given us the chance to talk about what we love and our trips and our pics and such.

CG, I certainly understand the impulse. I don't care for what this has become. It can really be a lousy place sometimes. It didn't used to be like that. The place feels contaminated. Some folks that I've enjoyed have moved on.

I've found myself letting things get out of perspective on occasion and have just taken a break---to get back the perspective that "it is just an internet travel forum", and a rather small and obscure one at that. But recently when I have reinvolved myself, it doesn't seem very long before I regret doing so. Like you, I've thought about asking Anthony to delete me so I can't reconsider (or at least to slow the process enough to give me time to think about it.)

It might be a good time to leave. And if you do, that may give me the push I need. This used to be fun but it's not that much fun anymore.

Oddly, I notice that I'm talking about the forum in a similar vein to the way I've talked about STJ itself. I lamented and whined about the changes on STJ, then finally stopped whining and went to VG. I wondered why I hadn't done it sooner.

Hey CaliGirl----I've very much enjoyed reading your posts---you are a huge positive contributor to the Forum and I hope you'll reconsider. Your recent TR on the VIs by sailboat was a real highlight.

I got a little too involved in the "surpring place" posts on the OT Forum----it just got me upset, so I decided not to read those threads any more (a slight exaggeration: I still read occasionally, but do not reply). Now, like the wise Mr. Chill, I try to focus on the threads about the Beach Bar,St. John, Jost, my favorite beaches and bars.

As they say, every 'ting gonna be alright.

HEY C-GIRL,

What's this I hear your thinking of leaving us !!!
I DON'T THINK SO !!! YOUR NOT LEAVING YOUR FORUM FAMILY !!!
I'll make you a deal....if I can make you smile..you have to stay...O.K.?? O.K.! Here's an old joke I once heard.....
( stop me if you know this one )

There were 3 guys stranded on a deserted island , one of the guys discovers a small lamp sticking out of the sand....He picked it up and began cleaning it off when this Genie suddenly appeared...." I am the Genie of the Lamp and I will grant you 3 wishes "....so the guy who was holding the
lamp makes the first wish..." I have been stuck on this island
for many years and I miss my Wife very much "..." I wish I was at home in bed laying next to her....POOF..he was gone...
The next guy says.." That sounds sooo nice "....." I also wish that I was home in bed laying next to my Wife "...POOF..he was gone...The third guy say's " I really miss those guys ".." I wish they were back !!!"

( I still like your OTHER AVATARRRRR!!!)

Bev, just don't check your quirks at the dock. It just wouldn't seem right.
Margo --- Don't go.

Bev --- Do I really have to be an adult? I don't wanna.

Sleep on it please...........this forum goes through changes every few years. You are a part of the foundation here. These people will go away. They do not have the VIOL forum or Anthony's dream in their heart. YOU DO! DO NOT LET IT DRIVE YOU AWAY.........we can ignore them; but not you!
