Miss Lucy's Full Moon Party

Post by barnbob »

Has anyone been to a recent Full Moon Party at Miss Lucy's? Is it family friendly (we have a 9 year old) or is it more of an adult party? We were thinking of going there in October. Thanks

The last time I attended one was a couple of years back.

Live music, good food etc.

Now Flip Flop and I barely remember this event due to the 14 rum punches consumed between the two of us and our hubbies had to carry us home, but this was not indicative of the tone of the event itself. We had our own party within a party going on.

For the most part it was just good folks hanging out and visiting with one another. Don't remember many kids out and about but again, given my condition at the time there could have been an entire elementary school class there doing a puppet show and I probably would have missed it.

Planning to head back this December with fellow forumites but you'll be there before me so that's not much help for you.

I think your child will be fine but I can imagine if you're there super late with them it might raise some eyebrows just due to the late hour.

Thanks for the information. I think this might be a "baby sitter" night. I really do enjoy rum punch... :) now, to find a baby sitter in the Cruz Bay area.

When we stayed at Estate Lindholm in 2005, Lauren told us that she and Brion took their daughters (who were under 10 years at the time) with them to Miss Lucy's for Full Moon Parties. They brought a blanket with them and danced under the moonlight.

Have a great trip.

We were thinking about it in November. Also, no help to you, but I am curious to hear more about it from those who have been there.

I believe they are closed until November (last year they reopened Nov 5th for season) but not 100% on this.

See Flip Flops most recent trip report-- I think she books her sitters on island through Christy's Classics and has always had great sitters with them.

I will definately check it out. We are there for 15 days, so it would be nice to have a few "adult" nights.

That's whta she does. She sets a few nights each trip as "grown up nights" to get bit of grown up time in. Works well for her.

I thought they were closed last year. But I drink a lot and can never really be sure.

Hey there --- Just getting caught up on the forum and saw your post. I think the party is totally kid friendly. I didn't take my little one because she was 3 and it was way past her bedtime and mama needed to get a little drink on. I try not to get silly in front of her. :)

A 9 year old would be perfectly fine. Unless you prefer to have a later night without kids. I could see it being a good time either way, just different.
