Le Lapin
Hey Donna,
I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I stayed at Le Lapin Thanksgiving week 2006 and LOVED it!!!!! I was part of a group of 22 that stayed at 3 different villas. I stayed at Le Lapin with my husband and two boys and my sister in law and brother in law and their two boys. The 8 of us were very comfortable in the roomy villa. It's a great house for a family or a couple or couples.
It's comfortably decorated in good taste and the furnishings are in good shape. If you like to cook there is everything you need in a little better than basic fashion. We loved the layout and location.
We really enjoyed the large covered deck that overlooked the pool. I liked the fact that the deck wasn't right "next" to the pool. Our gang hung out there one night and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere. It was also a beautiful place to have breakfast or dinner. We enjoyed the wrap around porch on both levels. There also is a large driveway.
I liked the view, but my brother "Rick G" wasn't too impressed with it. He travels to St J quite a bit so he may expect more than I do. The pool view is a little limited due to the pretty foliage, but is of St Thomas and the other view is of Heart Bay. I loved having my morning coffee while sitting on a deck overlooking Heart Bay. My view right now is that of a snowy back yard and my Golden Retriever rolling in the snow! Oh to be planning a trip now to warm St John!!!!!
The pool is VERY private for that romantic swim too!!
The drive up the driveway is a little "interesting", it's steep, but it was a very private villa and we could not see any of our neighbors at all nor did we hear them.
No matter where I would stay on ST John I would rent a 4 wheel drive car. We enjoy being able to go where we want to when we want to and stay as long as we want.
