I am nervous as anything today. Have been all week. Would love to see the Saints win today!!!
For those of you that are tired of hearing about the Saints...that is the national media. We are just glad to have gotten this far. We treat every game like it's the Super Bowl as far as how excited we are. Try going for as many years as we have without much to say for it as far as wins go. To us, we have already won because we have never gotten this far in the play before.
All of the stuff about the Saints being "America's Team" is not what we are claiming down here. The Saints are our team and that's all that matters to us. It's nice to have people from the rest of the country pulling for us, but hey, don't people like to pull for the underdog (we were picked to come in 4th in our division before the season).
I can tell you this much though; it is a boost to this city's hearts because all of us have been Saints fans forever and at this particular time to see them winning gives us hope. It's hard to explain.
As for the Cinderella story ending, it doesn't matter to us if it ends today or next week. We are just glad to have gotten to be a part of the story this long. We are proud of our players and thank them for all of the hope they have given us.
So yes, Go Saints!!!

p.s. Reggie may fall, but he'll get right back up like we all do down here!

Mr. Pete - I hope they play with that attitude today too. One thing is for sure, they are playing like a team instead of a bunch of individuals which is nice to see.
If they have done nothing else this season, they have given this city hope and helped us all join together for something - so to us, it's alot more than just a game...it's hope. I think the actual games are lagniappe to us.

Actually, if they weren't playing my Bears, I would be rooting for the Saints, too. They have quality people on their team...not just in terms of skill, but also character.
By the way, lagniappe is a great, somewhat obscure word. I happen to know what it means because my highschool's yearly drama show had that title. I wasn't a theater dude, but that prompted me to look it up then.
Good luck to your team. If they do win, I will be cheering for them in the super bowl.

Thanks Mr. Pete and good luck to Da' Bears - after all we shared a taste of Ditka for a while. Even though we may not have won while he was here, we LOVED having him here and hated to see him go.
Glad to see he came out and supported the Bears. Heck, is there any question that Archie Manning would support the Colts if it came down to the Saints and the Colts?
I don't envy the Bears for having to deal with all of the stuff about the Saints being America's Team. We all know that if you make too much of a deal about someone or a team being all that, you put the gris gris on them - look at Tony Romo - they jinxed him
I forget that "lagniappe" is not a commonly used word. It's a great word though, isn't it?
Good luck to your Bears today, and like I said we are just glad to be here (or there) now. We are gonna enjoy the trip while it lasts.

Hey Mr. Pete - congrats on a well played game - you guys blew us away!
We are proud of our Saints and glad to have gotten this far. It will be a bit sad around here for a while, but I can guarantee that when our boys come home, they will have a warm welcome because we are so proud of them.
It was a fun ride while we were on it though. I can't wait till next year!
Good luck in Miami!

Sorry, but I lost all respect for Reggie Bush for his taunting and flip at the end of his TD reception. Many will point to the safety as the turning point in the game. I've watched this Bear's D all year and I am sure that Reggie's antics pi$$ed them off. That was the turning point, if you ask me. After that, the D got even more angry.
Idiot rookie...when you score, show some class and act like you've been there before...especially if you are a rookie.

Great Bear win and I think it's theirs to lose in the SB.
I'm a big Reggie Bush fan for obvious reasons, but that was a bit over the top. Not sure if it p***ed off the Bears but didn't add anything to the run. In college he that a couple of times but they were from scores from short yardage and had to go over the top. Kind of bush league, pun intended.

So you won - instead of ragging on Bush (which we all know his actions were uncalled for) - bask in your glory - it's hard enough for us coping with the loss. Like I said, that game meant more to us than just football, but we pick up and move on like we always do down here.

p.s. for the record, I prefer Deuce to Reggie but am glad to have them both.
