My ticker is stuck!

Post by susan & herb »

Posted on Wed, 9/10 and my ticker said 8months and 1 day. Just posted today, 9/12 and ticker still says 8 months and 1 day.

Am I having a senior moment here?

It depends what time of day you set your ticker to. If it's not set to your time zone, it will change at odd times!

Your ticker stays current. So, if you go back and look at an old post, the ticker is still from today's date. Does that make sense??

No sorry, don't get it.

I just posted on the thread, "what do you do after you finished all the planning etc." and my ticker is the same for 9/10 and 0/12 posts. I want it to move and it always does. Am I stuck in ticker limbo?

Your ticker will always represent the countdown from "right now". The ticker changes, even on your old posts. So when you look at your old posts tomorrow, your ticker will will say one day less than it does for today. Is today's ticker correct?

this is why I always find the posts that say "just want to check my ticker" a little funny. you can always see your current ticker on any of the old posts you made. your ticker is in real time so the old posts don't show the status of the ticker on the day you posted, it shows the current status.
does that help any Susan?

Let's cut to the chase here ... I think the answer to the question you posed is yes!

I am only kidding...

thanks marybeth,
Now I understand. What confused me though was that I thought on 9/10 when I posted it said 8 months 1 day and today that's what it also said, but when I checked the e-mail I sent to my cousin it said 8 months 3 days so I was wrong.

Did not realize it was real time on old posts!

It all started today because my cousin booked her flight and asked for an update on our countdown.

My ticker won't go away and I've been back since Aug. 14th. How do I remove it? Don't want to start counting down to my next trip yet.

OK... so I'm probably the most ticker-challenged idiot on here. I've been trying for a week to make a ticker. I've tried 3 different web sites... at least 5 different tickers. I've been too embarassed to do a "ticker check" post, so have just looked at my replies, and found them ticker-less. I was just about ready to concede and ask for help.... when I looked at my profile and realized I didn't have the "always include signature" checked. So, here goes. I have no idea which ticker I finally wound up with.... but hopefully I'll see it here!

Kathy, I think you chose an excellent ticker.

In fact, everyone else has such cool tickers that I'm about ready to go get a new one for myself.
