Just found this out:
The following customers will not be charged a service fee to check a bag provided the bag is within the weight allowance:
"Customers originating travel in the U.S., U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico or Canada and traveling to an international destination beyond the U.S., U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico or Canada"
Does this mean there is not a baggage check fee if flying to USVI???

I read it to say you are not charged if you are travelling internationally. That is, beyond the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Or I guess North America as Canada is included. But not Mexico. Odd?

I flew from Orange County, CA to Orlando on American 2 weeks ago and checked one bag. I asked the lady who was directing everyone to what line they needed to be in and she said it was $15 for the first bag and $25 for the second one. When I got up to the counter, there was no charge. I still don't really understand it, but I go with the flow.
