Jeep Compass
Jeep Compass
Has anyone rented one of these Jeep Compasses? I have seen them listed at a few places, and they appeal to me because they are cheaper, plus they use less gas. And big cars + little roads = nervous Lulu, and they seem smaller than the Liberty. However, will four people, a cooler and some beach bags travel around STJ without being too cramped.
Anyone have any input? Anyone have one in your driveway? Help!

I rented a Jeep Compass last time, and there were three of us. There was plenty of room (room for one more person) with us and all of our beach gear. It was four wheel drive, so no problem with switch backs, ect. It does have a smaller engine, therefore better on gas mileage. I say go for it.

The liver is evil, it must be punished!

Woo-hoo. This might be better. We were really worried about getting the car back because our two drivers are both stuck on an early flight to California that last day, and we are staying in Coral Bay. The third girl will drive, but didn't want to have ANYTHING to do with the car ferry. Plus, free parking on STJ will make up for the fact that it's a little more than the Jeep from Discount.
We were going to go to Cost-u-less, but now that I am getting a late flight, we figure that we'll just deal with groceries once we get settled. I think that works better, as you can see what's been left behind at the villa. (Like I wouldn't have paid $9 for olive oil and $6 for Mrs. Butterworth's syrup if I'd known they were in the pantry at the house!)
