Trip Report From Bert Last Day Addendum..

Trip Report addendum - Last Day

I must apologize, I did an injustice to one of the wonderful little places we ate lunch on the last full day. It was Sun Dog Cafe in Mongoose Junction. We had passed by the Sun Dog numerous times on our visits to Mongoose Junction, but we never gave any serious thought about dining there. On our last full day, we wanted to do some last minute shopping on the way back to the villa, so we parked in the back parking lot of Mongoose, and entered right where Sun Dog is.

I said, "Hey, why don't we grab some lunch here. We've never done that before." Well, it was quite good! We were very pleasantly surprised! We will definitely stop here again on our future trips!

Food porn! Here is what we had: I had the Turkey Melt with Cole Slaw:

Barb and the Newbie had the soft Tacos:

It was very good! Kudos to The Sun Dog Cafe:

And, while we're on the subject of eating......this is the look I got all week long from the demanding little devils known as Banaquits...if I let the sugar bowl go empty....
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/2S ... 2-Uk"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/CaribBert/SL3-4NBU ... 3.JPG"></a>
Just fill up the bowl, and no one gets hurt.......

All this going on while the rest of them hung out in the tree near by waiting for the sugar to appear
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/l5 ... 2-Uk"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/CaribBert/SL3-2htg ... 0.JPG"></a>

And let's not forget Mr." I'm gonna yell at the top of my lungs until you put something out for me".
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/6n ... 2-Uk"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/CaribBert/SL3-sDMo ... 9.JPG"></a>

So, anyway...so ends the tale of our trip with the Newbie. Until next time....enjoy some Champ.........uh, Sparkling Wine!

It never occurs to me to stop at Sun Dog. I'll have to check it out!

Thanks for your terrific report, Bert. Nice ending shots of the bananaquits. I hope you did not feed the thrasher though! I HATE those birds and always chase them away...they are so darned loud!

Bert, we agree. Sun Dog is one of the best lunch spots on the island. Very good veggie burgers too, and I think the prices are reasonable.

We had a great breakfast there our last day and we always spend some time at that little bar stand next to it.

Thanks Bert. I don't know if SunDog is open in October, but if so, we plan to stop by for our first time.

The picture of the sugar bowl is too funny!

I'm pretty sure it is open in Oct. They also do a nice brunch menu on Sunday.

We went to the Sun Dog for brunch this past Sunday before we left, and it was excellent. Hubby and I had the homemade corned-beef hash and eggs, son had eggs benedict, and son's friend had huevos rancheros--all were yummy.
