flights from Chicago next June

Post by sea-nile »

I never know when to purchase the airline tickets.
Right now the least expensive flight is $530 and I was wondering if any of you think that it will get lower than that. I know I can use Yapta, but I did that for Florida tickets, paid $270 and 2 days later found out they went down to $190. The only thing they could do was to give vouchers for a discount on that airline (Midwest) to be used within one year. I probably won't use them.
Are there any airlines that give the cash back?
Thanks!

These days this is such a crap shoot. I've seen prices in June all over the place $800 - $350. Fom DC. But with oil dropping we may see some relief on the horizon.

I would just keep checking every day and set a reasonable price range (for me it's $350).

If it gets to your imaginary price.. then BUY.

I generally find that there are price dips at 9 months, 6 months and 3 months out.

Orbitz now has some guarantee that they will refund the difference in price if someone else books the same itinerary as you for less. Tahts' one way to work the system.

Good luck.

I'm looking for tix for June 19 -29!

I agree with gromit...keep checking. I use what we paid last year as a bench mark for buying this years tickets and check almost every day. Some times we pay a bit more some times less, this year we hit it just right and paid about half of last years price, this was about 8 months out on a Saturday morning. I check the sites that give multible airlines then check direct with the cheapest airline, usually $20-25 less. We fly out of ORD and have found that AA has been the least expensive (for the days & time we want to fly)

Good Luck
