Eaglesnest or NOT?

Post by philbetm »

:) I'm already looking for a villa for next year!
Taking daughter and hubby, her best friend and hubby.
All four are newbies to STJ. Daughter is looking at Eaglesnest thru Viva...I'm not so sure about that one. Can anyone share info on it? :?

Thanks :)

Sherry - I can tell you that I LOVE Contant Point. Argonuata (http://www.vacationvistas.com/2007/argo ... _john.html) is where we stayed, and we LOVED it!

It's on the point where as Eagle's Nest is further back.

Contant Point is GREAT because it's so close to town. We are hooked on that area.

If you have any questions, pm me.

philbetm,

Here's my villa review: http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/s ... 3645.shtml

Here's my trip report from that trip: http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/f ... php?t=5029

Eaglesnest is a nice spot. The two bedrooms upstairs are large and nice. The one bedroom by the pool is smaller and darker (I stayed in that one). The upstairs deck was great and was our hangout for the trip.

Cheers, RickG

Looks like Rick G stayed there in 2007. I'm sure he will weigh in, if he hasn't PM'd you already. He posted a review in the Villa Review section.

:D Thanks Rick, I read your report and looked at pic's. I have actually rented from VIVA 3 times and like them alot! I just wasn't too sure about the villa. However, she ( daughter) has already sent a new LIST of homes :o (not) to consider! This is going to get painful I think.

My advice to you: http://www.garvin.us/STJ/photos/advice.wav

With 600+ rental villas there are more options than you can rationally consider. I say you should pick the view, then pick the neighborhood and then pick the villa. Four three couples I recommend a four bedroom house with 4 1/2 baths - one of the bedrooms is usually next to the cistern and dark and damp, so having an extra bedroom gives you choices. For newbies I receommend something between Contant Point and Hart Bay - up the hillside is better than close to the water, the view is better. The rest is all about budget!

Check out Jazz Villa - http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/jazz/index.html

I agree with RickG. We stayed at Jazz four years ago. It had the same layout as Villa Rendezvous on Klein Bay where we stayed the previous year which we loved. It is a great villa with a large pool. It is left turn and up from the Pond Bay work. Don't know about the noise from there but it was private once you got up the steep drive. Nice villa for a decent price. The remodeled Rendezvous and made it a bit too pricey for us.
