New guy here! I've been lurking on the forum for several months now and decided to join. The wife and I were on St. John Oct 2003 for our honeymoon and are returning this October for the 5th anniversary. I've got a spreadsheet of the 40-45 villas on the "short-list"
Hoping to narrow that down next week and book...hopefully at a discount! Just wanted to say "Hi".

My husband and I were there in August of 2003 for our honeymoon and celebrated our 5th Anniversary on STJ recently
We went back every year in between too, I'm kind of an addict.
People here are a wealth of knowledge regarding villa choices, so ask away if you have any questions

I bought the airline tickets probably 4-5 months ago. I've spent at least the last 2 months looking at villas. I'm just waiting for a dealGromit wrote:Welcome! Talk about last minute planning-- your screen name should be "flybytheseatofmypantsmnan"
Fair warning, a lot of us are advance planners on here!
We're here to help if you need us.

We staying in Palm Villa of Gifft Hill last time and loved the view. We are looking at some different locations this time but are pretty much open to anything...as long as it's around $2000. I'd like a killer view, a/c and a pool (prob. optional). I wouldn't mind the Coral Bay side this time just because I haven't heard of any major construction projects on that side. I am concerned with the construction around Cruz Bay/Choc. Hole. The last thing I want is to listen to machinery on my vacation.CariBert wrote:Welcome New Guy BeachMan! Where on Island do you prefer to stay? Cruz Bay or Coral Bay side? Or do you have a preference? Looking for a pool? A killer view? a hot tub? We'll help all we can!

I think Luna Vista (www.mylunavista.com) would be great for a couple. It came highly recommended to me, but I can't get my group this year to go for it. Not sure if it's available for your time, but it's very inexpensive, all brand new and the views are lovely.
Welcome, welcome, welcome
Here is a villa you might be interested in but I don't remember if it has a/c or not but fabulous views with a pool

I know how nice it is to be in a villa as that is usually my preference as well, but if it's just you and your wife you may want to check out Gallows POint-they run a fall special that is really tough to beat. We booked there for that reason as we figured the $ we are saving we can use for a boat day (plus you can walk into town so do not need a jeep every day if you don't want to-again saving some $ for boats, drinks and dinners
).
