La Jolla Caribe vs. Cinnamon Tarn (St. John)
I've read the previous posts on these two properties and still am not
sure which to choose. Has anyone else stayed at either/both of these
recently? Any comparison of views? Condition of properties? Other
details? I'd be happy to hear from you!

La Jolla Caribe has one air-conditioned bedroom but none of Cinnamon Tarn's bedrooms have a/c...so if you have other people coming with you and need to be equitable with bedroom arrangements you might want to keep that in mind.

Cinnamon Tarn is awesome! I've stayed there twice and I love it. It has two equal bedrooms and killer views. You don't need AC. I have a photo set for this house on flickr that I can send you. I sent myself the link but it has not come to my email yet and I have to get off now, but I will send it to you tomorrow via pm.
If you have any particular questions about CT, post here. I know I'm not the only forumite that loves this house!
And, welcome to the forum.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
As you may be aware I am a huge fan of Catherinberg. I have rented around there and upper carolina. I agree you do not need AC in most of the villas in Catherinberg. I have visited all the rental properties there. I have stayed several times at La Jolla Caribe including this summer. You can not go wrong!. The view is broader at La Jolla as it sits out on a knoll so you get sun rise to sunset and see Francis bay and beach, Cinnamon and Peter bay. The BVI spread out in front of you, the views are unparralleled. the high up N Shore breezes have to be experienced before you really believe that ac is not needed. All three levels of deck have great breezes and views. the home is fresh and airy, very comfortable. As I have said before, it is not a Peter Bay pallace but is a wonderful and comfortable place to stay, well appointed.
If you like hiking, both homes are a nice hike to the beach or the Catherinberg ruins. they are accessed by dirt roads which means no traffic and a lot more privacy.... you might want a ride back up the hill so bring walkie talkies to call friends for a ride back up.
Enjoy the North Shore and you will be hooked!

We atyed in CT in JUne and loved it. No pool and the only reason I would want AC would be to have a quiet sleep. Some of my notes at the link(s) below...
