Questions for Vicki
Hey Vicki - If I remember correctly, on your last trip you took the ferry over to Jost and rented a car?? If you were to go over on the ferry again would you rent a car or take a taxi? How did you get directions to the different places you wanted to visit? Was everything easy to find? Thanks for any tips on that part of your trip!

Depends on what I wanted to do. If I just wanted to see Great Harbor and White Bay, I'd probably stick with taxis. If I wanted to go a little farther to see the bubbly pool, Foxy's Taboo, or some of the restaurants like Abe's or Sidney's, I'd get a car again. It's truly a matter of how much you want to pack into one day. Pack more stuff in: less time at each place. Visit just a couple of places: more time at each place. I tend to have a hard time being still for very long so bouncing all over the island in my own Jeep suited me pretty well. I would do it again, but it might not suit everyone.

We had no map or directions. It was fairly obvious where to go. There was pretty much one main road and everything was very easy to find.

Got it from Paradise (284–495–9477) right in Great Harbor. You can call ahead and they will pick you up at the dock, take you back to do the paperwork, then turn you loose for the day. You take the car back to them just before the ferry comes and they'll drive you back to the ferry and drop you off. I think it cost about $70 for the day. I thought it well worth every penny.
