Parking at Red Hook?
Parking at Red Hook?
I'm thinking of renting a car on St. Thomas and driving around to see the island, then parking at Red Hook to take the "people ferry" over to STJ for dinner. Can anyone tell me if there's long-term (several hours at least) parking at the Red Hook ferry terminal or close by? Thanks!

When we were there in May we had a hard time parking in the ferry parking lot. Just couldn't find a spot. It was $10.00/day.
We eventually just parking up the hill at Marina Market. It was also $10.00/day and we never had a problem with getting a parking space.
You may be lucky depending on the time of the year, but we didn't have any luck at all.
Make sure you don't park in any of the Red Hook businesses parking. You'll be towed.

Thanks everyone! That's exactly the information I was looking for. ExitZ - I don't mind paying $10 for a few hours. That's what it costs in downtown Los Angeles, so I'm used to it. I also think it's worth it for the convenience of leaving the car in an easily accessible spot to take the ferry over to STJ.
Thanks again everyone!

We have found that the lot at the Ferry terminal is a crap shoot unless you go very early or after 5/6. It is possible to get in mid-day but you got to time your entry around the incoming ferry's. Up the hill, driveway to Marina Market, is a good size lot for the same all day fee. They will give you a ride back to the Ferry which is a big help if your time pressed. You can also get a ride back up as well. Check the options when you get there. Don't park on the side of the road.

Thank-you & enjoy your weekend!bayer40601 wrote:Hi ya EZ, do you know if that complex is open yet
and is it going to be all shopping?
It looked almost complete in June when I saw it.
It is open, but Rachel, our taxi driver told us the only thing that is open as of the last week in July was a bank. No other tenants as of then.
