You have to stay at Ivan's Rick...........his new villa upstairs has enough room for 5.
You and sweet christine and you have 2 girls right?
I just stay in the oar house cabin or Arawak since they both have porches. I told Ivan I am getting him a rocker or a porch swing.
I told him to have Kenny bring him one over on the boat...........
I love your report LMG..........you definately get it. I love how you said it feels like coming home........
that is so true....

Fabulous report! Love yours pics!
Isn't bioluminescence cool? We happened upon it at Salt Pond Bay in July '06 a couple of days after the full moon (wonder if it is a summer thing?). We had just arrived and had 2 newbies with us (who "got it" - thankfully!). We were all completely awestruck - it was so cool! I'll never forget our newbie friend Amy repeating "this is such a magical place!". Like you said, "Fairy dust" is the best way to describe it.
We saw Ivan's new guest house (outside only) when we were there in March. Looks awesome - it's definitely on my short list...
I can only imagine what it must have felt like to unexpectedly get an extra two days tacked onto your trip! They wouldn't have had to ask me twice
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your TR and pics LMG. I enjoyed it.
What a pitty that you have travelled with one, who complains over sand on the beach. Reminds me of a couple who complaint to the agency because they haven't been warned that there would be noise at the hotel. They couldn't sleep! Noise, from what? From the waves
!!
Fine that you got 2 extra days and had a sailtrip!

Thanks, everyone.
SJ- Yes, the dogs are HUGE but adorable! I asked her if any of them were related to Miss Vie's dogs (she looked at my like "how do you know those dogs?" but I know all dogs eventually
) and it turns out one is. That island relative thing does not stop at the people.
Rosi- Thanks.
Liamsaunt- This year, hopefully!
CCasebolt- It was the coolest thing I've seen all summer.
Then again, I haven't been to a Sox game. ha ha.
Chrisn- "Trip Monster." LOL
Pia- Welcome back! We need to chat-- I need a full report and video!
Linne- Noise from the waves? Oh my goodness!
Also, your Spain photos are beautiful!
Wish I had more time for island time... or for island forum time.
And I use way too many smileys.

LMG, thank you for a great trip report. I'm sorry to hear about your one friend but I would have handled it the same way - alcohol! Problem with me is I may have not been as patient after the alcohol
You've inspired me to investigate staying on Jost in late January 2009. I just emailed Ivan's guest house and got a response within a half hour! They are booked sadly enough but said that they have a property overlooking the harbour in town. Does anyone know anything about that property?
Also, it looks like you arrived on a Weds (which is the day that we'll arrive), how did you get from STT to Jost?
Thanks for your help!

Hi Nancy,
Depending on your arrival time, you'll take either the CA or Red Hook ferry to Tortola, clear customs, then take another ferry to Jost.
Pretty easy, in theory--rules of the islands always apply.
The day we headed over we had to wait 45 minutes on a troop of boyscouts who got lost going to Red Hook. Luckily, the ferries communicated and they held the last Tortola to Jost ferry of the day.
