Hey MB, don't forget hot brewpub action. Capitol City Union Station, Gordon Biersch and the Chop House near Verizon Center. RFD near Verizon Center is a good tap room. Brasserie Beck is a great Belgian restaurant with the beers to match.

Send me a note when the time gets close so we can see if we can hook up for a beer. But, we've got family coming into town that Friday.

Cheers, RickG

Thanks Rick. We will be there until Monday so maybe you'll be sick of family by then! ;)

So funny that cocosmom mentioned The Tombs! I went to college in D.C., and the other day I was thinking about that bar but couldn't remember the name! Thanks for unknowingly jogging my memory cocosmom!

It's not in DC but just across the water in Arlington - not fancy but amazing. A quick cab ride.

Ray's Hell Burger. Michael Landrum of Ray's the Steaks fame (BEST damn steak I've ever had) has opened a burger joint. If you really want to treat yourself go to Ray's the Steaks - No, and I mean NO atmosphere but amazing food. You'll wait about 2 hours on a Saturday night - about 1 any other night. So worth it.

Flipper, I love ya, and thanx for the steak/burger reference and all that, but I ain't waiting for an hour, much less two, for even personal service from the queen's chef himself. Looks and sounds good though. Man, I'm jealous of your soon come trip!!! You don't know of any place around her where I can snorkle in torquise water do you? For that, I would wait in line for an hour!

So sad! It seems that a 19 girl fell asleep at the wheel and was the cause of that tragedy. One of the bridges was closed for repairs, so traffic was 2 way on one bridge that morning. It might be a miracle that only one fatality resulted, though how horrible for the truck driver's family.

If you are able to clear the border, Ray's is a must. DIVE. But great.

As for the trip, sounds perfect to me! I can't think of anyone who'd be more fun to have around than you. ;) If its ok with Mrs. JT (she can even come too) its ok with us!

Five Guys Burgers and Fries! There are a couple locations downtown that I know of, Chinatown - Verizon Center (located at the Corner of H and 9th St. NW as well as in Georgetown. I love me some cajun fries too!

I second the recommendation for Rays Hellburger AND Five Guys - they've really branched out over the past few years. YUM!
*Another fine scatterbrained production

Five Guys rock! I was going to mention them but wasn't sure if MB was looking for something that casual. I also love the Belgian restuarnat Belga Cafe - they have the best fries and love those mussels!
