Hey Anthony - Hidden User?

Post by Steve S »

I just noticed that there are 6 registered users, 3 hidden users, and 20 guests on the site at this moment. What is a "hidden user"? How and why would you log on as such?

I'm one of those hidden users :)
Here's why .. this site along with several others open as tabs in my browser and they stay open all day. So essentially you'd see me logged on to this site at all times. So I hide myself to avoid that! You know, so no one thinks I'm a kook or anything! LOL

Under your profile there is a list of options with radio buttons. One of them is “Hide your online status”…that way when I login my name doesn’t appear at the top. Just a personal preference :)

Bert it's under profile - you can hide your on line status.

mbw1024 - I feel your pain! I do the same thing so I don't appear to be someone with a serious STJ addiction. When I'm in full on planning mode, I spend ALOT of time on here! (and even when I'm not in the planning mode)!

I confess to doing the same as MB and Cass. Trying to hide my addiction, too. Do we need some sort of recovery program? 8)

I go on sometimes and don't log in so that you people don't think I am a freak.
When I was home for 3 weeks after surgery, I did change my status as a hidden user a couple of times, I have to admit. Now I don't get here often enough so I don't go incognito anymore.

Oh Mary Beth that's too funny - you a kook?!
Why do we have such shame over being obsessed?

Hi, my name is Patr and I'm a St John-aholic. :)

(sometimes at home when DH walks into the room, I quickly minimize or click another tab) guilty as charged!

I count as two registered users. I used RickG in my web browser and I have a second evil account that I use for troll-like comments and to read posts in my RSS reader. Just kidding, but that approach might help with the lost unread/read flags on posts.

Yep, like MB, everything opens automatically and runs on my computer 24x7. So, if it seems that I'm online a lot, its because my computer is on. I'm probably at the pub.

Cheers, RickG
