Looking for donkeys in all the wrong places
CAG, thanks for helping me waste over an hour reading this old thread. Most of it was spent wiping the tears from my face from laughing so hard. So many witty people who also dispense good advise.California Girl wrote:Papabou - Tortola is a rabble rouser. I seemed to remember other negatives from this person, so I looked it up. Tortola is one of the people who posted last year on a thread about all the forum members being alcoholics and obessed with booze. Seems to me that this person is just out there looking to stir things up, with no real informative or positive input.

I'll take that a step furthur and state that all these denials and excuses posted leads me to believe that many of the members here may actually have a problem. I drink here because it is cheap, or I drink here because I can relax are all excuses. Just look at the first post about koozies or whatever....it's not about you drinking on our beaches...god forbid your Buffett Cola gets warm!

Why, why, oh why didn't I find this forum earlier?

Well Some of us work very hard for a living and look forward to some R&R. Some of us are very blessed that we can get away to the island (St John) to recharge our batteries so we can go back to working very hard for a living (working hard does not automaticlly mean you hate your job). During R&R some people like to help the relaxing process by some libation okay maybe a lot
! I for one work hard and play hard and I enjoy drinking Beer, Liquor, Wine, Scope... In moderation of course. Who am I kidding I drink till I stop. The point is... Ummm I forget (I've been drinking, shhhhhhh...). Ohhhh yeah, Vacation is in the eye of the beholder. If you like to relax w/ a brew so be it. Let the teetottlers relax their way (w/ an enima or what ever they do to relax).
PS Cheers

White-tailed deer were brought to the island for colonists to hunt. I've heard that they can sometimes be seen swimming between islands.heckstar wrote:I have a question... I know how the donkeys came to be on St John, But how did the deer arrived on the island? Anyone know?

That thread was one of, if not the, funniest couple of days that this forum ever had! Well, for most of us anyway! It got kind of ugly for a couple of people. Those of you who never read it should follow the link that CG put up and enjoy a couple of hours of funny one liners. CG is correct in implying that Tortola didn't seem to get the spirit of this board back then. Still doesn't come across as being someone who'd be fun to have a beer with!
When you find yourself in a hole.... quit digging.
It took me three days to see the donkeys, so don't feel bad.
I still haven't seen deer. I am glad someone posted a picture, because I am really having trouble wrapping my head around it -- deer are hardly tropical animals.
That other thread is funnier when you're drunk, just FYI. Thank god for mango rum.
