Parasailing

Post by mrscaptainjay »

My cousin and a friend went parasailing this week in St. Thomas. Thought I would share the video. They used Adventure Center in the Mariott. Jay and I went along for the ride to take pics and video. It was pretty cool.

That was actually my cousin's friend screaming. She was too funny. She was scared of heights before coming here, but she went on the sky tram to paradise point and then suggested parasailing. I guess she's over the fear.

They were up to about 360 feet and was up for a good 15 minutes. I definitely want to try it after seeing them!

That was a great video....We went in June with Adventure. I went up, but I couldn't get Brenda to go. The crew was great..it was cool to see Keysar in the video. He is quite a charecter. I saw a lot of great views on our trip, but the view from above was fantastic. I whish I had a waterproof camera to get shots from up there. Maybe another forumite has some...
Still waiting to return to St. John!

We might do it!

This sounds like a lot of fun. We are staying on the east end of St. John. I think this will be a lot of fun for my teens!! (ok, and me!)

Any suggestions on how to get there and which operators would be the best for a bunch of beginners. I need help especially with getting there from the east end--is there any good transportation from the east end? Water taxi?? Or should we just take the ferry?? I will probably go ahead and plan this as soon as I hear from you.

There are all kinds of companies that do parasailing. This was the first time we booked something like this and they were wonderful with beginners. I wouldn't necessarily come over to St. Thomas just for that. It makes for a long day of taxies and ferry rides....unless you are going to make a full day of St. Thomas out of it. Then I would take the ferry to Red Hook and a cab to the Mariott. Adventure Center's number is 340-774-2992.

I googled parasailing and St. John and Varlack's web page lists three different companies. I don't know if they are still in business or still do parasailing. I would just call and if they sound friendly, book it. :D Have fun!

St. John Adventures ~ (340) 693-7730
Low Key Watersports ~ (340) 693-8999
Adventures in Paradise ~ (340) 779-4527

I will look into these companies. I didn't know that parasailing was offered in St. John.
