Cousin's trip report - day 1

Post by mrscaptainjay »

Well, with all the great trip reports (especially the one from STT :) ), I thought I would do a trip report of my cousin's recent visit.

Angie and Patti arrived last Thursday afternoon, uneventful trip from Charlotte, through Atlanta. I picked them up at the airport and found a really nice welcome committee and a steel pan band. It was really nice. We drove to Hook, Line & Sinker (surprise, surprise) to wait for Jay to get off work and have a couple cocktails.

After Jay got off work, we headed to the house. View from downtown Charlotte Amalie.

We cooked up some burgers on the grill and celebrated their arrival with some welcome shots!

They had a long day and we both had to work the next day so it wasn't a late night. Angie and Patti are late night people so it took them some time to get on "island time". By the end of the week, they were going to bed early and getting up early, which matches our schedule.

Next installment: 99 Steps, Charlotte Amalie, Captain Mayhem.

Nice to have another STT trip report. I love reading your blog, and it's nice to have the story that was alluded to there described in more detail with pictures. Looking forward the rest...

Nice pictures. Sounds like you all had a great time visiting. Early to bed and early to rise is my motto most nights while on the islands, too. :) It's tough to stay up too late cuz the sun comes up so early.

Last year my family and I stayed at Saphire Beach and was up at 6-7 and in bed by 9-10 my children never got island time. Bed by 12 up by 9-10. Gave my wife and I private coffee time watching the sun come up. Ahhhhh I can almost hear the peace and quiet.
