Pics from April trip--sorry so late

Post by gymnastika »

Okay, I just returned from Virgin Gorda and St. John yesterday but I had to send these old pictures out before I write a trip report about the last 8 days.

Our first swim in the frigid waters of late March/early April at Caneel's main beach.
<A href="http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/25 ... uehS"><IMG src="http://inlinethumb47.webshots.com/43438 ... "></A><img src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/ ... ZnPTE=.gif">
Warming up in the sun.
<A href="http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/27 ... yolb"><IMG src="http://inlinethumb04.webshots.com/42499 ... "></A><img src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/ ... ZnPTE=.gif">
Our view from Terrahawk of Gibney, Hawksnest, and Caneel. That's Dexter, the 1st grade's class bear. It's tradition at Joshua's school that Dexter the bear goes on trips with students. This has been Dexter's furthest journey from Texas, and I felt he needed to see St. John!
<A href="http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/20 ... TvqO"><IMG src="http://inlinethumb21.webshots.com/1748/ ... "></A><img src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/ ... ZnPTE=.gif">
Our pattern was to always end the day at Gibney beach, since we could walk to it from Terrahawk.
<A href="http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/23 ... iiXn"><IMG src="http://inlinethumb04.webshots.com/33603 ... "></A><img src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/ ... ZnPTE=.gif">
Our morning routines were spent at Peace Hill looking for hermit crabs, shell collecting and a quick swim.
<A href="http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/22 ... bloP"><IMG src="http://inlinethumb56.webshots.com/39223 ... "></A><img src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/ ... ZnPTE=.gif">

Look at the swells.

Hermit crabs!

If you remember my trip blogs, I wrote that our 4 yr old, while being pinched by one hermit crab was kinda cute, it was the simultaneous pinching of two hermit crabs dangling from my crying 4 yr olds hand that left us rolling in laughter. The evidence:

We got our boys wet suits, since they were used to warmer waters. They looked like mini scuba divers. Cute.

Swimming at Maho.

Playing around at Turtle Beach.

Taboo, what a great ol' lab, at Foxy's, out on our boat trip with Capt. Brandi.

My 4 y/o helping apply sunscreen. What fun. What a great day out on the water, although a bit choppier than what I'm used to in summer.
<A href="http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/25 ... wcDi"><IMG src="http://inlinethumb21.webshots.com/9044/ ... "></A><img src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/ ... ZnPTE=.gif">
Last look at Gibney before we leave. Look at the swells.
<A href="http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/29 ... wPhO"><IMG src="http://inlinethumb04.webshots.com/4035/ ... "></A><img src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/ ... ZnPTE=.gif">
<A href="http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/29 ... MylI"><IMG src="http://inlinethumb46.webshots.com/12397 ... "></A><img src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/ ... ZnPTE=.gif">

I couldn't wait to come back when the water was calmer and warmer, so I booked an adventure trip with my 7 y/o and 12y/o niece. We just got back and it was fun! More to come on that.....

I love that in the "warming up in the sun pic" your 4 year old is wearing his mask while lying in the sand

Great pics, thanks for sharing!

p.s. is Terrahawk the villa you see up on the hill when you are at Hawksnest looking towards Gibney?

nothingtolose,
There are two you can see that are not too far up the hill, Terrahawk and Kallalloo. There is one way higher up called Hawksnest, I think. I did notice a couple of others in that area, but I don't know which ones they are.

Isn't it just lovely to see children playing on the beach! Have just been together with our grandchildren
who love the water, and I have enjoyed to look at them.

Your boys are just so cute!
