car rental STT vs in St John
Renting on STT sounds easier to me and it would cost less. The car breaking down risk may keep us from renting in STT.
On a trip to Maui, HI many years ago, our car key broke off inside the ignition. We had parked at a remote parking area at 4am to meet a bike tour (sunrise on Haleakala). I was totally freaked out because my baby son was at the hotel with a sitter and I was worried we wouldnt be able to get back to him. We called the car rental agency and they drove us another rental just as we got back from our bike trip.
On the other hand, two weeks ago a gentleman who rented the villa we are going to rent at Grootpan bay locked his keys in the car on a Saturday and the rental company in St. John said they couldnt bring a key out to him until that Monday. Of course getting to Cruz Bay on your own is still easier than going all the way to STT.
