Bringing back Cruzan

Post by Cindy in pa »

For those just returning, has anyone carried their liters home? I know in August we had to wrap them up in clothes and put them in our checked bags. Luckily they all made it home. Do you still have to do this or are they putting the six pack carriers in a safe place?

In Dec. I checked a box of liquor in. The store had wrapped it securely and nothing was broken. Earlier when the new rules came in to effect I did pack some rum in my luggage and thankfully it made it through with no spillage.

That's what I'm planning to do, too. Only I'm going to get some of those cardboard box dividers that bottles originally come in when they are delivered to the store. That will make keeping the bottles separated an easy task. I will also pad the top, bottom & sides of the cooler, though.

Are you allowed to carry on or do the bottles have to be checked now?

Because it is a liquid....it would have to fit in your 1 quart ziplock bag & it would have to be 3oz. or less....so my guess is YES...it will have to be checked in.

Just pack it good around all you clothes in the middle of your luggage.

On our way down, we didn't check in any luggage, but B4 we left for the airport to come home, we made a stop at K-Mart & got about 4 bottles of Cruzan (LOT CHEAPER) & then we checked in our luggage on the way home. ALL bottles made it home just fine.

In December I had to check in my box of liquor. There is still that restriction. As I was checking in my luggage I checked the box in as well. One other time I put the liquor in my checked suitcase and everything was fine. The liquor store at the airport did a great job of packing the bottles in the box and there was no breakage.
