Forum Dive Charter - 1st week of November

Post by augie »

I know that there are going to be a fair number of forumites on STJ in early November (including the SOTB II crew), and I've heard some interest expressed in getting a group together to do a scuba trip.

I suggest we pick a day (as a first pass, I'm picking Tuesday, 11/4) then see how many folks are interested in participating.

I'm leaning to using Chris Sawyer's dive operations, but at this point, any and all aspects of this trip are open to discussion.

So far, it's me and my lovely spouse Leslie.

Who else is intersted?

Me! I will go. I was thinking of Tuesday and Thursday that week. Karin is on vacation and our other diver isn't a forum poster but I will let her know.

I passed this posting along to her. Perhaps we'll have an answer after she is finished seeing patients.

Hi!

On vacation, but still home (had to work today) :(

I'm in of course. Tuesday and Thursday is perfect. Thursday is the last day I will dive, because I am leaving on Saturday at noon, and will need that long surface time, before my looooong flight(s) home.

CS is fine with me. So is 6paq. If you are interested there is a thread on Scubaboard regarding CS and even a comment on 6paq (look under Greater Caribbean forum). Very interesting.

I want to say yes, but my left ear is misbehaving too much - lots of reverse squeeze. Looking up inner ear barotrauma treatments on a search engine is not a calming experience. Scuba-doc.com has some good stuff, but if nose spray doesn't work it looks like the solution is surgery.

Still, tempted.

Cheers, RickG

I am in on your Tuesday charter. Do you have any cost information?

Augie, will you make reservations?

Terese, Diana and I are all in. Chris Sawyer is fine. He pick us up on STJ, right? Just so we don't have to go to STT.

I'll give it a few more days in case there are others that haven't seen this yet that would like to join. At that time I'll contact Sawyers's and see what we can get as far as prices (maybe with a big enough group we can get some kind of price break - it won't hurt to ask anyway).

After I have that info, we'll do a "last call" after which I'll make the reservations.

They have a boat that runs out of Caneel, so we won't need to go to STT for the trip.

How many do you have at this point? On their web site they offer a deal with 12 or more. You might also ask if the coupons in their multiple dive packages are transferable to others or does the buyer have to use all of them.

I'd love to be with you guys & gals. Blow a few bubbles for me and after, have a Painkiller for me. Maybe next time. I’ll be looking for lots of pictures.

That is perfectly alright. We wait and see if there are some more interested divers out there.

Good that they operate out of Caneel.
