With oil going up.
Hence, gas going up.
Hence, airline tickets going up.

We bought Continental tickets a couple of months a go (no, we're not going to the islands) seeing that ticket prices were going up and up. As it turned out, we got a good price on them. Well, yesterday I thought I'd go check the fares again to see how much they went up. And to my amazement, they went down. So I called Continental and we're getting $156 in vouchers for future travel. Go figure - it must have been my lucky day.

So the moral of the story - check your reservations often, it might be your lucky day.

Good for you George!

Another easy way to do it is to sign up with Yapta at

http://www.yapta.com/.

You can enter your flight and information for a flight you've purchased or are just watching. Then they automatically check the rates for you. I think it is weekly. They alerted me that my recent STJ trip went way down in price - similar to yours - and I, too was able to get a voucher. It's a great (and FREE) service and I didn't get too many emails in my inbox.

Have a good trip George and we hope to see a ticker for STJ soon!

I signed up for Yapta for our trip, too. Unfortunately, ours will have to drop over $200 to receive a refund, which probably isn't happening. On the up side, I feel better about purchasing them early. It's still expensive, though.
