Last minute villa help needed ASAP.......

Help me make this trip happen- P L E A S E !!!!!!
It's either a quick trip to St.John or almost 2 weeks in the jungle of Costa Rica. If this happens it will be the first time to St.John without the WHOLE family, just my husband and I. WOOOHOOOOO

Just a few minutes ago I got a cheap non-stop fare offer for July 30- August 6. Now I need a villa that is open during this time frame(& a car). Beggars can't be chosey but I would like to stay on the Cruz Bay side of the Island, preferably Rendezvous area. Again, at this point as long as it has a view and isn't too expensive (cheaper is better)I'd be thrilled. So, if you happen to know of a villa open on short notice please pass it on my way.
Tomorrow I'll call a few villa agencies that we've rented from before to see if we can find something- anything.

Thanks so much & please help keep me out of the jungle- I'm a beach kind of gal.

Yeah, that information would have been helpful. All we really need is a one bedroom as it is just the two of us this go around( Did I mention WOOOHOOOOO???;) ) Air in the bedroom is must for my husband, view of water would be great as would a pool or soak tub(again, I can do without). I'd really like to spend about 2,000 or under if that is possible? The point of this trip is for it to be less expensive than our Costa Rica trip that we have planned.
On transportation I'm hoping to just get a small suv for the two of us on the island and as long as it runs and the tires are good I'll be happy.

Hey Gardengal!

There is a little jewel of a place right on the water at Chocolate Hole. Pictures on the owner's site don't come close to giving it full justice. It's called Beach Walk.

Two bedrooms plus a loft, decked out kitchen, wi-fi internet, great beds, jacuzzi hot tub right by the water..And get this..Fully airconditioned!

All you have to do is drive down the long secluded driveway, walk in, plug your ipod on the dock and jump in the hot tub and watch the ocean.

Love the place and can't believe this place isn't talked about more. Guess I need to do a villa review.....or maybe not!

Gardengal, here are a couple of possibilities. The Battery Hill suites in Cruz Bay seem nice - can't vouch for them personally, but they seem nice and meet your criteria. Cost is $295/night, but if you'll look on the Web site you'll see they're offering "up to 20% discount" in August, so it's worth checking out.

Morgan Point overlooking Great Cruz Bay looks nice. It's got a pool and a hot tub, a/c bedrooms, and is $1750. Offered by Carefree Getaways - good people who'll answer any questions. They don't offer online availability, so I guess that's your first question!

A couple of choices among what I'm sure will be a surprisingly good selection. And if you should be open to the Coral Bay area, there are other reasonably priced accommodations on that side.

Regarding Caribbean Villa's discounts...just rmemeber to add back in that 5% service charge. There are often some great deals on there though!

Try contacting Villa Fish (they hang out here too, so they might see your post). They list lots of villas and are very responsive to requests submitted at their website. I just returned from a trip booked through them and am happy with the service received.

Garden Gal - I just returned from Costa Rica in May. I too had my reservations, but I LOVED it. I wouldn't be too disappointed if you "settle" for Costa Rica. There's nothing quite like waking up to the sound of howler monkeys.

Check out Palladio's View - I believe it is just under $2,000 in the summer. It was on our short list a couple years ago, but we never stayed there.

We also were interested in Pink Horses - again, never stayed there. Pink Horses may be a bit more than your price range ($2,300?)

Also, check out Private Homes for Private Vacations. They have several with availability your dates for about $1,500 a week. We have stayed with them several times, though not in any of the villas that are available your dates...

One more comment...we did stay at Meridian through Private Homes for Private Vacations and didn't love it...the only home we rented through PHPV that we didn't like.

Laura T - we stayed in Palladio's View - thanksgiving week 2007. Amazing views!! - Beautiful home - very well maintained, great brezes - loved the outdoor showers in the master bedrooms - - tried to rent it again for our trip at the end of this month - but unfortunately it was booked.

So we will be staying at Periwinkle Cottage in Coral Bay - love this place too (our 3rd time renting it)- great for one or 2 couples and one of the bedrooms now has ac, it has a pool, hot tub, great views, breezes, very private - all for under $1500 in summer.
