Suzi's Trip report, Day 5
Suzi's Trip report, Day 5
Spent most of the morning cleaning up and getting ready for our newbie friends to arrive today. So fun waiting at the ferry dock for them and waving as they come in!!!
Twins initiated new girls to Thomas' smoothie stand. After unpacking, they were up for some fun, so we headed off to Trunk. It was after 4:00, so we walked right in and had a wonderful couple of hours. I was soooo disappointed to see most of the underwater markers cracked and broken . Look like they had been vandalized! How long has it been that way??? It has been maybe 2 yrs since we stopped at Trunk. Very sad...
The newbie kids saw a turtle right away and they were ecstatic!!!
Ordered pizza from Cafe Roma.
BTW...where does everybody park in Cruz Bay? We have stayed right in town for the past 3 yrs, so we were able to walk everywhere. Really thhhhhhhhhhhrew us off this yr having to find a place to park! My husband kept Slimman in business this JUne!!! Just counted on an extra $10 every night we went into town!
Speaking of Cruz Bay...Like I said, we have stayed in town for the past 3 yrs. mostly for the girls sake, so they could stroll into town whenever they felt like it. Or husband and I would get a head start at dinner time, and say to the girls, " We'll meet you at Lime Inn in a half hour". Last 3 yrs were at Gallows, Palm Terrace, and Lavender Hill. We all agreed this year that we missed staying in town. The teenagers wanted to go into town every night!( yes, they met some boys and wanted to meet on the beach in front of Beach Bar) It got very old driving them in and waiting around for them. And then we couldn't drink too much because someone had to drive back home. Staying in town and out of town, both have advantages and disadvantages.

I agree with yo about staying in town. It is really easy. This last trip we stayed in Virgin Grand Estates in a villa with 4 other couples. Becasue of the drive and parking problem, we hired a full time driver. It was nice, but I think i would have been happier in town.
I have read about Gallows, but what are Palm Terrace and Lavendar Hill like? Is the walk from Palm Terrace really that easy.
We stayed at Coconut Coast and loved it, but had to walk around a pond to get to town. At night (you really aren't supposed to do it an night) it was a trip!

sqd-
Lavender Hill is right across the street from Gallows Pt. the 2 buildings w/ lavender roofs!!! Go figure. Palm Terrace is on the little street that comes in right by Coconut Coast Studios. So if you were coming from Gallows, you would go down the steep hill as if you were walking to coconut coast, then make a left before you got there. so convenient! and you get to walk off dinner!( not to mention all the rum drinks)

Palm Terrace was very very nice. 3 yrs ago it was brand new and the prices were right. View is just OK, but from the top unit it wasnt bad. also, the prices reflected that at the time. dont know what the prices are now. the 3 bedroom unit was HUGE!!! In one of the bedrooms, you could sleep 6 kids or teens ( 2 double beds and plenty of room for 2 cots or inflatable. the decor and appliances were tops! From the bottom units, you really couldnt see much, just foliage and tops of trees. Paying for convenience and not the view. Mango Terrace is the same kind of buildings and in the same general area. It over looks the bay where the car ferry comes in. Does anyone know if it is open yet??? Might get a good rate once it opens.
