When do you know that "you get it"?

Post by luvinsun »

Is it that you can't wait to start planning your next trip to STJ, the day after you get back?

Is it that you can't stop thinking about your previous trips to STJ?

Or is it that you can't wait to look at this forum every single day (5:30 am) to see if there's a new trip report (SCORE!! Thanks X), or another topic that you just can't wait to read about!

My answer = All of the above

My routine = This Forum, web cam, Capt Jay and Mrs. Capt Jay blog, On St. John.

I guess I get it!

Happy Monday everyone!

(P.S. going for my 2nd nerve block today (out of 3)... I'm trying to get my back better before our next trip to STJ...)

On your last full day on the Island and all you can think about is: "Would we have enough money to move here if we sell everything we have back home?!"

OR

on your last day you are inventing all sorts of things that could happen that would prevent your flight from leaving. That would mean it will be several more days before there will be any available seats! :D I ruled out snow or ice rather quickly, although that would close the airport.

The second time I walked off the ferry in Cruz Bay. Grinning like an idiot and thinking, I'm home!

I realized I got it when before I even left to come home from my first trip I was planning vacation #2. I also have realized (as has my hubby) that my mood is just not the same unless I have CONCRETE plans in motion to return. It doesn't have to be right away, but knowing I am headed in the right direction makes me happy!

I think about it like this-It gets me. I have often felt like one of those people on Lost. Like there is something on the island that just keeps pulling me back.
When will I see St John again?

When your family and friends start calling your "obsessed"?

Let me see...

After a few days on island, I described myself as feeling like "warm playdough"

I don't feel like I have to wear makeup OR sleeves to feel like myself... both things I would never be without at home.

I was planning a wedding and couldn't afford to go back so I talked about St John so much that the happy couple went there for their honeymoon!

I am always checking flight prices and villa prices and hoping something will be too good to pass up once I recover from the wedding!

I check the forum board a couple of times a day at least, surf the other STJ websites and blogs and have the Calendar hanging in my laundry room to distract me... in a good way. My screen saver is full of my STJ photos...

Yep, I get it. (Although, it feels like something that I've "got" like a virus!)

Actually you do not truly "get it" until you move here.

All of the above and also how I compare everywhere I go to STJ. At home I pretend like the brown/green lake water is turquoise blue and the hills on the other side of the lake are STT.
I've got it bad. I am not even supposed to be on here at work anymore and I am risking being fired by being on here! Oh well.
