My Trip report (really) Part III
My cell phone rings at 6:30 and I jump out of bed but I have no service in the bedroom, so I run out by the pool. My neice is house sitting and has no hot water, so I have to wake up Chip to give her instructions on how to reset the furnace.
Since we are up, we decide to get going early. We make another million dollar breakfast and share it with our Thrush friends.
This is how we decided what beach to go to:
"What do you want to do?"
"I don't know, what do you want to do?"
"Go to the beach"
"Which beach?"
"I don't know, what beach do you want to go to"
Repeat and Repeat
Of course this conversation is fun when having Baileys in your coffee and coming down from a bacon high. God Bless my liver and my arteries!
We stop at Deli Grotto and pick up an Italian sub and a Trunk Bay Chicken sandwich and hit Gibney. Get get great parking and walk down the hill. There was a photo shoot going on but he head all the way to the left and set ourselves up.

We did not see another person until my friend Sharon showed up about 4 hours later. It was pure heaven.
We chill for a little longer and then head back to the house for swimming and a few beers. While we are relaxing the sky opens up and Sharon decides to head out since we are meeting for dinner in a few hours. Chip and I take a nice long nap while the rain comes down.
We get dressed and head into town, getting there a little early. SHOOT, we will have to head to the Quiet Mon for a drink. I hate it when that happens.
Sharon arrives and we get a street side table at La Tapa. We start with a carafe of Sangria and bread with olives and seasoned olive oil. Then comes a bottle of wine and Josephine's greens with goat cheese. Dinner was escargot for me, Tuna for Chip, and Lamb for Sharon. We split the chocolate torte while we finished the wine and head home, as they say, Fat and Happy!
Dinner was wonderful, service was great as well.

Back to the villa and I fell asleep almost instantly.
Chip's version of this part of the evening is different. Sharon and I were the sole drinkers of the Sangria and the wine and Chip claims that as soon as we got into bed, the true telling of the sory goes like this:
Me: " I am too drunk to fall asleep"
Chip: Laughing
Me: Snoring
I will neither confirm nor deny that, but I had a damn good day!

I only had 6!!! I will say that ride back to Chocolate Hole felt like a roller coaster!Gromit wrote:I love that: "I am too drunk to fall asleep"
I think we've all been there!! Just ask Flip Flop who was my partner in crime at one of Miss Lucy's full moon parties... 14 rum punches later (between us) and we were feeling it!
