Day 2, Trip Report 5/15-5/25
I woke up feeling very rested and quickly became concerned because it wasn't sunny outside. Soon found out that was because it was 5:00am and the sun hadn't had time to come up over the hills! I took a peak out the door and saw not a cloud in the sky and knew the sun would be shining soon. I got back and bed and managed to lay quietly and read until I saw the sun actually coming through the curtains. Then, I had to wake Jason!
We relaxed for a bit on the patio before deciding to head to breakfast at the Blue Moon. We were pleasantly surprised with the restaurant on site. The breakfast crew was friendly and the entire resort was quiet. It came awake slowly. We enjoyed sitting out looking at the water as we ate and then got our suits on and books in hand to find our spot on the beach. Secret Harbour has umbrellas on the beach which we were grateful to have. Jason tried out a hammock.

The morning was spent sunning and swimming and snorkeling. This was our view.

I can't even begin to stress how good the snorkeling was at SH. We spent hours out in that water and saw so much. We saw the first lobster we'd ever seen, tons of conch, turtles, a ray and tons of fish. At one point we were out really deep and there were big rocks, I saw something moving and this huge turtle looked like he was hitting his head against the rocks. Never seen that before. We also saw a baby turtle that would hide from us. My husband got tons of great video, but didn't take many pictures. I wasn't thrilled with that!!

We enjoyed sandwiches on our porch that was nicely equipped with a table and chairs, plus two lounge chairs. Then we returned to our spot under the umbrella. My husband had brought down a piece of bread with him to "feed the fish", a couple of local guys were doing it earlier in the day, so he felt it was ok. I agreed to one piece and no more...but it didn't matter. He laid the piece of bread on the lounge chair next to me and went to his hammock, next thing I knew there was an iguana under the chair desperately trying to get to the bread. It was hilarious to watch him try and his iguana friends soon had me surrounded. I'd fed the iguanas flowers from the trees before, but wouldn't have dreamed they'd want bread.

A light rain came through for about an hour and Jason napped, while I sipped a rum punch and read my book. We enjoyed the rest of the day before getting cleaned up for dinner. We had reservations at the Blue Moon for dinner and I can't say enough about it. The atmosphere was very tropical and our server was very professional and fun. We had the bleu cheese and smoked gouda cheesecake for an appetizer, a bottle of pinot noir, Jason had loster and filet, while I had a filet. Everything was cooked perfectly. We savored every bite and couldn't believe how relaxed we were. It was the perfect way to end our day, the wine helped of course. We decided to walk on the beach back to our room which wasn't the brightest because the no-seeums got me, but it was worth it!
Tomorrow: four more of our crew arrive and we enjoy one more day on St. Thomas before we head to St. John!
