Continental direct out of Newark to STT?

Post by susan & herb »

I don't know if I just missed this, but I know I have checked many times and never saw it. Continental has a direct flight out of Newark to STT. I am trying to plan next May's trip and we usually go out of JFK with AA and our frequent flyer miles (considering the airline fiasco, don't know if I will even be able to use them). I just happened to check Newark and put in Wed thru Sunday and a direct flight came up!
Anyone have any info. on this?

I thought EWR to STT was only on Saturday but I have been checking that a lot lately too and have been seeing direct on other days. Not sure if it is every day or not.

CO has operated non-stop EWR-STT for many years. We've flown it a number of times and are booked on it again next spring.

CO typically reduces their daily service back to 2x-3x per week sometime in May or early June until early November.

We JUST booked a December trip out of Newark direct to STT on Contintntal !!!

YIPPEEE!!!!

We are returning on a Wed 10 days later and take a little Cesna over to San Juan and then a Boeing from there up to Newark. I only cared about a direct flight down since I couldnt get one both ways.

We were considering JFK on AA but even tho this cost more it is closer and easier for us to get to.

Trip counter soon come!

Continental has had that flight for years, I used it aleast 7 yrs ago but they sometimes cut back flights as already mentioned by tjwgrr during slow periods. I usually book this flight because it is always cheaper than the direct USAir flight out of Philly and easier to get to than JFK.

Yes - this is my favorite flight and we have used it many times over the years. In fact, I just booked today and paid for the whole thing with Amex points (about $450). July 13 to 23rd (Sunday and a Wed.) - St. Thomas and St. John, hopefully at least a day trip to St. Croix too. Look out USVI, here I come... :)

That is EXACTLY the flight I'm on next April - only my flight originates in Los Angeles. Carolyn, we're also taking that Cessna back thru San Juan... I imagine that'll be exciting! My RT on Continental from LA to STT was $478! That's the most AMAZING price!

Is the flight from STT to SJU always on a little plane? That scares me and I'm looking at Continental for next May.

O.K, I think spending all my time checking airline flights and different options for next May has made my brain mush!
We always use AA out of JFK which is the reason I never checked Continental out of Newark!
We have always used our AA FF miles. This May we had a problem with miles so I want to be prepared. We have some Continental miles, not enough for 2, but was checking to see which made more sense as far as price.
Need to take a rest for a few days.

The best flight is Continental's direct which is Flight # CO1884 EWR-STT & CO1883 STT-EWR and it's about 4hr 20 min flight time, it's currently listing at only $379.00 for even High season on Jan.09, HURRY!

We just got back from STT and was on that direct flight out of Newark! Loved it! Perfect times! We paid 390 r/t for Memorial Week. I think that's pretty good! Someone I s/w paid a little less but i'm still happy with our fare!

CA girl ... I quickly googled the cessna 402 I had to do a double take but thot about it only briefly and agreed w/ my husband that the ride ought to be interesting!!! The photo I looked at said it is a 6 seater....ahhhhh!!!I have been on little commuters before but never quite that small!

<img src="http://www.lucasleys.com/blog/wp-conten ... sna402.jpg">

I definitely will report back on the experience!

Can anyone speak from first hand experience? I would imagine of all the places to fly in a little plane like that over all those gorgeous islands back to San Juan it will be quite spectacular.

We're booked on that direct flight in December. 4 hours and you're there. Amazing! I don't think I could do the flight from SJU to STT on that small plane. That's why I've always stayed away from CO in the past. We paid $470, which was a bit more than I had wanted to pay, but I wasn't taking the chance that it would go any higher.

I'm considering booking the same direct flight for our April 25th to May 3rd trip.

When I was looking for flights, AA had very few direct from JFK, and none from EWR, they all went thru SJU.
