I know this has been addressed, but can't get the search feature to do what I want it to (not the most computer savvy person). Anyway, are small soft sided coolers still allowed as carry on's?
Will be island bound on Saturday so I'm starting to obsess about everything and this just popped in my head. I don't want to check anything if I don't have to. Thanks for all of your good help!

We took a small cooler on the plane when we went down in May. We had a few frozen steaks and chicken breasts in it. Was about the size of a 12 pack of beer. Had no problem with carry on. We did not use any ice as I had been instructed. They did open it, but closed it and we kept going. As everyone said, it stayed frozen until we got to the villa.
God forbid one of the cooler people gets angry with a flight attendant for not giving up a pillow and attacks her with a frozen chicken breast-- then the "cooler people" are screwed!
I can see the new TSA restrictions list now:
"No matches, screwdrivers, knives, guns or frozen meats of any kind!"
Don't plan on getting through TSA with any kind of refrigerant, unless you are packing breast milk or insulin. Pack the cooler as tight as possible, fill any open space with newspaper or cardboard and freeze the WHOLE COOLER PACKED, if you have space for it in your freezer.
