Flight is Booked

Post by theshopper3 »

Whew,

Was that an ordeal or what. I had been watching the flights for our Nov trip. I was too tired to book them Thurs, thought I would just book them Monday morning............ Well they went up a $100 a piece, yikesssssssss  . Thought I will keep an eye on them & check them late at night as I remembered someone mentioning that they tend to go down at night.
Checked again at 11:30 PM & they had gone up $400 a piece    got very depressed  & turned of the putter not a chance I was paying that price, I kept telling hubby it was just a glich, it had to be right.

Same deal Sat..... So up Sun morning & checked again :D YEAH the glitch is over some what. Not what they first were, but still a good price, so booked them tickets. Were originally going Nov 1-9, but found it $200 cheaper to go Oct 31 to Nov 8.

So glad that is over, just have to tag flight with Yapta & hope the price drops.
Can anyone fill me in on how it works?? At what point will the airlines give you a credit.

I just booked our tickets for next April this morning, too! I got a RT on Continental from LAX to STT for $478!! Almost $200 cheaper than the tickets I got last year! I was really sweating it because this morning was the first day I could book and I was watching the prices last week and hoping this one would stick... and it did! Now I can get on with planning other things!

I can see the headlines now "Dangerous foreign agents drink Woody's dry."

Can ya believe that Loonies are worth more than $US!?!

The first week of November has to be weighing at over 40 forumites on STJ!!

Rick you are a funny guy

I don't drink :) MUCH

Headlines may be more like.....Dangerous canuck driver in town, stay off the roads....LOL

When do you & Christine arrive??? Are you the 1-8 of Nov???

Our tickets were $430. x in from Dtt, which is about a $100 more than we just paid in May but still over half the price then to fly from Canada.

Please leave something behind. DH and I don't get there until the 13th of November. I pretty excited, it will be our first trip in a month other than June.

We get in at 12:13 on November 1 (for now). I have Halloween duty with the kids this year, otherwise I would be on STJ for one of my favorite nights.

Hey Shopper - Congrats on a new trip!

As far as the Yapta service, sign up and they will email you if the price drops. I actually get emails about once a week or so even if it goes higher. When I was alerted by them about a price drop, I contacted the airline (United) and told them about the lower fare and asked for a voucher. No problems, they sent out three for $154 each! That will help with the next trip!

Have fun planning!

So, I'm numb on how Yapta works. Do you have to buy your tickets through them? If you sign up and hadn't bought your tickets though them, how will they know if tickets you bought on the individual airlines have gone lower than the price you've paid? I'm still using my old slow running puter, that will croak of I load another program onto it. Wondering how this all works... :?
