Returning to the forum...

Post by sasky »

... after you've returned from the islands. Anybody else find it difficult?

I arrived home on Saturday evening from a glorious week on St. John, and didn't check back to the forum until Wednesday (despite checking it every day in the past). Having to leave paradise hit me pretty hard and I thought coming here would just make it worse!

A trip report is in the works. That was another thing I found difficult to start. Sigh... GOD I MISS IT!!

Just pull up a chair, and big ole pot o those famous baked beans, and start typing away! You'd be surprised how theraputic it can be and it will lessen the pain of having to be here instead of there!!

Looking forward to hearing your take on da 'ilan......

I really enjoyed writing the trip reports because it does help one re-live the whole trip. (SOTB II don't get any ideas though, it is someone else's turn to write the reports). :D

Also, having another trip in the planning sure helps too!

I completely feel your pain!! Last week was my first week back and it was horrible. I always hate for vacation to end, but this time it was the worst it's ever been! I don't know if it's because we took a longer trip or what.

I want to do my trip report to relive it all and I can honestly say that yesterday afternoon was the first time since we returned that I felt like myself! It was weird! I did figure out that this is the first time in a long time that I don't have a St. John trip planned to look forward too. We want to start a family so we don't know when our next trip will be. I've decided to start looking at villas to really see which ones I'd like to stay at so I'll be prepared when that next trip comes!

A rum drink always helps too!

Its hard to come back for me. I'm always slammed with work when I get back and it takes a while to catch up on home stuff. It takes a while to get back in the habit.

Cheers, RickG

This forum is half advice and half therapy-- and it's FREE!!

We've all been there and we're here if you need us.

To make the transition easier I try to carry over some of my island habits (smiling and deep breaths!!)and cook with all the fun spices I picked up at STJ Spice!!
*Another fine scatterbrained production
