Forum changin' direction...if so..it's ok..cool...
even....
I'm open to change...wind blows...
Lots of interesting subjects are posted...however the one that seems to be getting the most hits...is
Jorges...Mens only week...lots of hits and lots of comments...
others who post some other questions...observations...they are kind of lost and forgotten...why is that???
I'm a huge lurker (also just coming back on today after being knocked out after storm outages last week...) and am coming out risking being totally ignored...for those heading off with Jorge...
Jorge...do tell...what is this girl missing????

Poor Jorge - you are in trouble and you didn't even know it
I am not sure I understand why one would think that the forum is changing direction because of one particular post getting lots of comments. It just indicates that there are a group of friends having fun with that subject.
I think this forum definitely serves its purpose better than any other and is the best source available to use for planning a trip to St. John.
If a particular post doesn't get a lot of answers I certainly would never think that it is being ignored in favor of another post.

Dang it, Jorge! You've done pretty good with staying out of trouble since the OT Forum started up. Now look what you've gone and done!
[BTW, I might be interested in the Boys on the Floor Tour, but I ain't spooning with any of you donkeys!]
Berlingirl, The forum is always changing. At its worse, it's still a pretty ok place, . Did somebody's question not get answered? Like you, I've been knocked out by the storms. Just got our cable back this morning, power late Friday. Man, am I glad that I bought a new generater a couple of months back! Kept the beer cold, food frozen, and the XM Radio playing!

When you find yourself in a hole.... quit digging.
This place has always been about change and what the current crop of regular visitors are into. I recently heard we had some defections - it happens, and has been happening for more than 10 years now. It used to drive me nuts, but I learned to thicken my skin up about that. People come, people go, the focus shifts, etc. It is very hard to try to steer one of these things!

Jorge's all men's trip is no different than the SOTB all girls trip that started last year.
For months we posted on the forum regarding the upcomming trip ~ who wanted to go, who decided to go, what our official drink was, and finally our trip report.
I'm sure we had more hits than other topics at the same time. It's something new and interesting ~ not the same ole "what beach is your favorite". Don't get me wrong, I always answer "which beach is my favorite" too, but a new topics is always good
XOXO

Thanks to all that replied...especially to Anthony who has done a wonderful job over the years of maintaining this fantastic "free" forum for all of us USVI Lovers! I know I personally can't thank you enough. It's been a valuable resource for information sharing. Over the years it's gone in different directions...that's great, change is a good thing...it keeps things interesting. I've missed weeks here, sometimes months due to "life" and it appears a lot more.
Ok...I am embarrassed to say I knew nothing of the Off-topic forum.
I just checked it out and the topics are some that I've enjoyed over the years. (I'm not just a little embarrassed BTW...very
)
I also missed the all girl trip...guess it's only fair since it must've been a big hit and lots of people posted that Jorges mens trip gets equal participation. (didn't know it was a real trip), again...
Wishing all those travelers a great trip!
Thanks to all that responded! I am glad to be back on-line even the "old-fashioned" way for now! Hope everybody has a great weekend!

Berlingirl, some self-reflection is cool with me.
Well, I only reply if I have something to add. One thing about this forum vs. the other forums I participate in, there are a lot of people here who can answer the questions. So, I hold back on the me-toos as well.
I also will not post on a subject that does not interest me. The days to short to be a maven just for the sake of it.
That being said, about half of the posts I hear read to me while I'm cooking dinner or working on something else. I know that if NoTanLines is laughing her butt off I need to go to her office and read over her shoulder.
Cheers, RickG
