funny driving story

Post by deejayjay »

We live in KS. No ocean. Flat. Nothing like STJ. We had been home from STJ for about 2 weeks and were driving in a rural area, on a gravel road, looking for a park entrance. When suddenly out of the blue, my husband stops the car in the middle of the road. I said ,"What's Wrong? " He said, "What side of the road am I supposed to be driving on, I can't remember." I told him, and we both had a good laugh. We decided that we already needed to return to STJ. It was surely a sign. (And not just a senior moment. 50 is too young for a Sr. moment isn't it?)

That is a great story! I worry that we will be doing the same thing when we come home from our trip! I can totally see myself stopping the car in confusion. :D

I think you need a return trip, ASAP!

This happened to us in the snow at Deep Creek, MD in February. Sweet Christine wasn't nearly as amused as I was.

I've had the same thing happen twice since coming back from this trip. Both happened while pulling out of an intersection. I'm pretty sure the fact that I feel more comfortable driving on the left means I'm supposed to live in St. John! :D

For anyone familiar with the internet sensation "LOLcats," I sent this to my husband the week before we left:

It's a saying that we repeat to eachother as we're driving around the island. :)

And of course, we have to reverse it when we come home.
