I see you kept the hammock warm for me Becky! Thank you very much for all the pics of OH. The pool and verandah are the reasons I booked that villa and I can see by the looks of things that we will enjoy them immensely!

I was not planning on bringing a sweater but I will definitely stick a front zip hoodie in my suitcase. Thanks for that info.

I so did not need to read about that Scorpion though. Par for the course I guess. Our last villa had a resident Turanchula!

Awesome report as always. We leave in 6 days!

Chris, other than Mr. Scorpion, Orchid Hill was pretty much bug free, even in the outdoor room.

Suzi, no, we saw another scorpion later in the trip. This was my first time seeing a live scorpion. They were bigger than I expected!

I had a couple of other "interesting" wildlife encounters, both on land and in the water, all to be reported on soon!
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Welcome back to the "daily grind" liamsaunt. Looks so far as though you and John had a fabulous visit!

The villa looks beautiful and that pool is to die for with the infinity edge and the view.

Okay so you even cook all that yummy food while on vacation too?? There WAS a time when I really enjoyed cooking :o but not so much lately.

I can relate to the scorpion sighting...I openend up our grill one evening and found one inside about 3.5 inches long. I guess that's kinda small and it would take about 50 of them to take me down but it was a bit scary :o

Looking forward to the next part to your TR!!

Thanks for sharing...

As usual, I am late to the party. I've been checking in and looking for your report knowing that it would be great!!

So sorry about your husband's wedding ring but you are right. If I had to leave mine somewhere on earth that would be the place. Pouring a glass of wine for mysef and looking forward to reading the other installments! Thanks!!

Okay, so if you ever think about moving here on a full time basis, I for one would like to offer you a job. If you put that much love into dinner for yourself, I can only imagine what you do for company! How many of you Forumites would like to have Becky here to order dinner from?

Yikes. Flip flops and scorpions are probably a bad mix...

What airline did you use for the direct flight from Boston? I've always had a connection in San Juan.

Sounds like a wonderful time.
