Question regarding Snorkel Gear
Question regarding Snorkel Gear
Hello forum,
I tried to "pre-pack" this morning and found that my fins are probably gonna be to big for carry-on only. So I think we are gonna rent some on island. Well I did a couple searches and came back with about $35/week for a set of fins!
I know that's not super expensive, but definitely more than I expected considering snorkel bobs in hawaii is $8/week. Just wondering if you guys know if this is about the cheapest we'll find on island or is there a better rate out there? If that's the rate though...i'm gonna have to get the saw out and trim those flippers down!

We bring a snorkel bag as a personal item with two sets of snorkel gear. It fits under the seat in front of us.
The two places we've seen folks rent from are Hurricane Alley and Crabby's.
There also seem to be a lot of short swim fins out there for pretty cheap. They seem to be popular with boogie boarders.

The quality of my fins when I snorkel isn't that important to me, unlike when I am diving. That said, I bought a cheap-o pair of Body Glove shorties at Sam's that worked great for me and fit into my carry-on with ease. I liked them just fine and they were about $20. You might consider something like that.
