Would Caneel be worth it for one night?

Post by alw1977 »

We've got one night before the rest of our group gets there and we check in to the villa. One night at the villa for the two of us is going to be too expensive. I was planning on doing a harbor room at Gallows, but I checked and Caneel has decent rates during our off-season visit. Would it be worth it for 24 hours? Would you do it or just stay in town?

we did it for one night but we made full use of the property the next day and didn't check out to the villa until 3. it was fun but I'd love to stay longer!

If you have time to take advantage of the beaches, then yes, it would be worth it. If you're just looking for a place to sleep and maybe kill a few hours in the morning, I'd say stay somewhere less expensive.

Provided our flights are on time, we'd have about 24 hours on the property, and wouldn't leave until about 3 pm the following day. I think we might do it.

I think 24 hours would be worth it, especially if you take the Caneel ferry.

Caneel charges $90.00 p/p roundtrip, unless it is included in one of their packages. The all inclusive which is available for the month of September includes transfers.....taxi to and from the airport and of course the ferry.

If you like, Caneel will also allow you to use their ferry for one way only, and it is half the price. That is what we did.

I say go for it! :D

So, if we do this, we'll be in the cheap seats at Caneel. Has anyone ever stayed in a Courtside or Garden Side room?

yes. i've stayed in both. the garden rooms are only a few steps closer than the courtside rooms. not worth the price diff IMO. my favorite are the premium courtside, which is double the size of reg courtside.
