I'm new. How is everyone?

Post by STJBride »

Hello everyone! I've lurked for a long time now, almost ashamed to admit how long. Over a year! I'm a fellow STJ addict. We were married there (by Anne Marie Porter. Who has an amazing calming sense about her!) last year on June 11th (sans kids!) and that was also our first trip to the Islands (Don't ask me why, my mother in law has lived there for years now!) Life, kids, etc... I guess! Francis Bay Beach is where we chose to get married and everything was magical, low key and I couldn't have asked for anything better.

My name is Christie, my husband is Ken and we have 3 kids. The 2 oldest are my step-daughters, Kimi (17) and Kristel (15). I have raised them full-time for going on 6 years now... And we have one son, Kyle (4) who is a little spitfire on wheels! :D

My mother-in-law lives on STJ and so that also makes our trips a bit easier. She has villa(s) as well as a main house, so we don't worry about a place to stay! Just airfare, food, etc... Works out really nice!

Our second trip is coming up really soon. June 10th-17th and we are so excited. Our 4 year old is going with us this time and this will be his first trip! He is a water boy, 100% so he is really excited! And this will be the first time he has met his grandma as well. It'll be another magical trip, I'm sure. My step-daughters are there now, they flew out on May 26th (with my sister in law) and will return on June 10th, the day we fly out. They chose to go with their Aunt because she has 2 older kids. And well, any teen would choose to go with their cool Aunt, especially girls!

It's nice to finally say "hello" and introduce a partial life story. Haha, my husband was picking on me for spilling so many details. Oh well! 8)

Welcome to the forum! :D

You are lucky to have family owned property to stay in! Are the villas your MIL owns on the rental market, or reserved for private use? You know that all of us forumites are always looking for additional properties to investigate for future stays.

Thanks for coming out of the shadows.

If your MIL complains (like all MILs) that the kids don't visit often enough - I'm available for adoption

Welcome to the forum! Your 4 year old will love STJ. We took our grandson when he was 4, and he could play all day at the beach. He loved using his trucks to move the sand from place to place. And, you are very lucky to have relatives on STJ! Enjoy your trip.

Thanks to STJ Bride, I decided to come out too. I have been lurking for a couple of months now in preparation for our upcoming STJ trip, June 7-17. My husband and I were married there 9yrs ago by Anne Marie also(June 16). We are traveling with our son who is six, my sister in-law, and two nephews. We are staying at Hale Lani(hope it's as nice as you say it is FLIP FLOP). Plan on doing some scuba diving and sailing, just wish our little H2O boy was old enough for scuba, but I am sure he will have a blast snorkeling. Can't wait to get paradise!
