American announces cuts at SJU

American Eagle will reduce service from 55 daily flights to 33 beginning in September.

There are also rumors American will announce a reduction in mainline SJU service as well, which would affect flights to/ from the States.

I don't know what this specifically means for STT, but I'd say flights will fill more quickly, and get even more expensive.

I know it sucks that they are reducing flight availability. But at least they are doing something to reduce costs. I think these baggage charges may very well be temporary to get the airline through a hard time (hopefully!). I'd much rather have cheap flights w/less time and day flexibility. Can't have it all right? Ultimately this is just gonna force people to plan more, and travel in full capacity planes. even if it doesn't reduce fairs much, at least it's more environmentally friendly. Less gas + more people per gallon = less pollution (yay!).
