For Nic in KC
Hey Nicolle - I hope you had a great time last week in St. John. I am anxious to hear how you liked Sol Inclination - post a trip report soon!!!
Thanks.

Hi Jamie!
I desperately need to work on a trip report this week to help with the post vacation depression. It's worse than ever this trip!
I will go ahead and say that Sol Inclination is amazing. Everything you could possibly need is there and perfect. It is breezy up there, but we only felt it was too windy sometimes late at night when we set on the balcony. It was wonderful to be outside and have the breeze and no bugs! The view are perfect and even though South Shore villa is right below you truly feel like you are all alone on top of the world. The drive too and from Cruz Bay and the beaches was pretty easy in my opinion. The driveway is my only complaint with the villa. We had 4 couples and three cars. The driveway is steep and the turn around area isn't that big so you truly have to be really careful. We figured it out and my vehicle (with the younger crowd) in it stayed parked below the guest house which had us hiking up the drive often. It was worth it though!! I'll be posting my pictures and more thoughts soon. If you have specific questions that you'd like answered now, please feel free to ask!!
I don't think there is any way not to love the villa!!

So glad to hear that you loved the villa Nic!! We sent our deposit last Friday so it's a done deal now. There will only be four of us and one vehicle so hopefully we will not have issues with the driveway. I was a little worried about the wind but it sounds like it will only be a problem late at night (we will be there the exact same week next year). How long was the drive to Cruz Bay? North shore beaches?
Welcome home!

I'm looking forward to doing it too!! I have Friday off work and I planned to do it then, but now we had a death of a close friend and I'm afraid I'll be doing funeral stuff all day. My goal is by the end of the weekend to have the first several days done! I NEED to relive it all!
To answer your questions about distance though....I timed the drive and it takes 10 minutes to get Cruz Bay and about 20 to get to the beaches depending on traffic! Keep watching...the report will follow soon, I hope!

Nic, I'd love to hear more about Sol Inclination...we'll be there two weeks from tomorrow!
What kind of stuff do they have in the kitchen? Salt, pepper, ketchup, etc? Is the cooking stuff good (pots, pans, baking dishes, etc)?

Jamie - of course I looked at all of them! #79-89 are the money shots and are all taken from the 2nd floor balcony of the main house. #120 - note phone and wireless access point to the right of the magafridge. In the background of #131 is the gut coming down from Gift Hill and has a large waterfall when the torrential rains come. It crashes down over the rock near the top of the gut in the center of the photo.
SI is one of the better appointed and spectacular villas on the island.
(no need for me to post pix from last Oct, except may the one of us in the outdoor shower...

That video tour is awesome!! We sure have a lot of forum peeps staying at Sol Inclination. Verjoy will be there this weekend and Teresa you are probably headed there right after her family. It's amazing.
The kitchen is very well stocked. I don't want to ruin any surprise, but the welcome "basket" from Island Getaways was nice. There was salad dressing that would still be good, tons of spices, a huge thing of olive oil that is still good, salt and pepper, plastic baggies. The selection of pots and pans was plentiful and we used at least three baking dishes at once and there were even huge plastic cups that we used to drink our rum punch on the beach. There were two pitchers for drink mixing I believe. It really is outfitted with everything you could need. I don't remember ketchup being there, we left mustard behind.
There is also laundry detergent in the laundry room and four beach towels in each bedroom which were great. There were also 8 beach chairs which was sooo nice to have one for everyone there if we wanted it. Two nice rafts in the pool and we left about 5 noodles that should hopefully still be in good shape and are with the beach chairs. It will be an amazing time!! If you think of any other questions, feel free to ask since I'm on here all the time, just haven't had time to get my pics together for a report. I was soooo sad to leave that villa more than any other. I'm horribly jealous of those of you who still have it to look forward to!
More soon,
Nicolle

Nicolle, I have another Sol Inclination question...maybe I should PM you instead in case you don't see this...
Anyway, are the two bedrooms in the main house pretty equal? We have another couple going with us and I'm wondering how similar the two bedrooms are.
Thanks
