Cptnkirk's Day Two IN Paridise

Post by cptnkirk »

Allrighty then another day in paradise. Woke up on the couch again looking at the rafters. This one is for greyhound mom cause she was a good girl.

Same start to the morning as the previous day, coffee, great view, bacon and eggs yada yada yada. Made the biggest decision of the day. Lets give our fave beach a try Salomon. We pack up and were off. We arrive at Caneel and tell the nice lady where were going and we tell her we know how to get there, she smiles and says have a nice day. I love how friendly they always are at Caneel. Park the jeep and unload our stuff and Andy drops the vodka on the pavement well you know what happened. Ever see the add for Crown Royal that says ever see a grown man cry with a broken Crown Royal bottle well this would have been Andy other than it was cheap Gilbeys vodka. I say don't worry about it we don't have to drink we'll just snorkel more. So we start down the loooooong trek to Salomon and I take a few pics threw the trees on the way.

We finally arrive and there they are in all there glory my 3 most favorite palms looking as good as ever and noone has taken them. Theres a couple people on the beach ones catching some rays the other making baskets under a palm. We set up shop for the day under our favorite palms and chill.

Well Andy and I decide not to snorkel as the seas were pretty rough we must have had a fifteen mile wind in our face all day so we chill some more. This is getting a little much as Andy and I are doers and the girls are happy as can be just lying around and being. Andy wants to make a booze run and I say hike all the way out of here are ya crazy well 45 minute later there we are at Dolphin picking up two bottles of Gilbeys. We were only going to stay at the beach until we got hungry but decided we would grab some sandwiches at Delli Grotto so we could make a day of it. Arrive back at the beach and Andy and Dawn must have already been hungry as they devoured their sandwiches. The drinks start flowin and Andy and I can now enjoy just being for the day. Well were being and drinkin and before you know it the first bottle is gone open up the second ( BIG MISTAKE) and the party is on. We'll just make this drunk beach day a Tradition on St John for us we always have one beach day were we really party usually at the end of the trip this time we happened to do it at the beginning since the conditions all fell into place. I eat half my sandwich to even out my buzz (YUMMY) and remember Andy had already devoured his earlier so he's getting lit up like an xmas tree.
HELP I'VE FALLEN AND CAN"T GET UP

At this point we cut Andy off as we don't want to have to leave him for the night at the mercy of the Mosquitoes and no seeums and we enjoy the rest of the day. Swim a little and get off the beach about four. Look over towards the trail and the Andy is doing a pole dance with a palm or making out with it or something maybe he was just keeping the palm from falling over wish I had a pic of that one but I was too busy trying to get the sand off my feet. Stopped and talked to the lady making a basket and said this should be interesting and she laughed and said good luck. We make it out with Andy only falling up the trail a couple times and arrive at the jeep. I'm pretty sobered up by the time we take off as I ate the second half of my sandwich before we left the beach. Get home safe and sound. Were all beat so we take a nap for a couple hours. We get up feeling refreshed well Andy isn't so refreshed. We decide this would be a good night to grill our Porterhouse steaks we brought down and have a nice dinner in tonight. With full bellies and a party day behind us we hit the sack early eager for our next unknown adventure in the morning.

What a great start to my Sunday morning. We've had a few of those beach days. I bet that was a long hike back to the car. It's a good thing they don't give DUI tickets on STJ, just as long as your buckle up.
