Show Your Pet!
I don't have pictures but I DO have a lot of pets:
3 dogs and a fat cat.
Dallas, our Rottie, who you all prayed for after he was diagnosed with cancer @ a 1 1/2 years ago, is still with us and going strong at @ 9 years old! Hubby took him from his first dog training client who was going to put him down because she got a new dog and liked the new dog better. He's scarily intelligent and just as goofy. He is a miracle and totally with the thousands spent on his surgery and treatment!
Monkey, our Yorkie, @ 4 years old, is 4lbs of pure bark 'n bitch! We got her for free from a breeder cuz she has tear duct issues. She thinks she rules the house, steals toys from the Rottie and barks when we leave the house, enter the house, and when getting her food ready. My husband is a dog trainer and the barking drives him bonkers. I just remind him that that is what yorkies do and she's cute and only 4 lbs so leave her alone!!! (I am my husbands worst client)
Peanut, our Westie, only stays white on the day we bath her (she likes to drag her entire body across our dirt yard). She came to us to be evaluated for Westie rescue & we found out that she bites! Otherwise, she is a GREAT dog- loves to play with other dogs, very happy, fun etc. So we kept her cuz we knew Westie rescue would put her down. Hubby has done a lot of training with her so she now only tries to bite for bath-groom-nails-vet appts. A little tranqulizier goes a long way with her!
Mugsy, a fat black & white cat, snores, snorts, sneezes, isn't afraid of dogs at all, is VERY social, and could eat his weight in food (all 16 lbs!). He was a stray that came to the animal hospital I was working at and I took him. His meow sounds like a cat being tortured and he loves to do it at 5am! He's lucky he's cute. We cannot free feed him cuz he'd eat all day, he can open cabinets (I have hairy pots & pans), he likes to faint at my feet, sleep on my chest and tease the Rottie (not too smart).
Our pets are totally worth all the heartache, all the vet bills, all the accidents in the house, all the vomit (even the vomit in our bed- bleecch), all the kitty litter cleaning and all the barking!

Kentucky dogs! Here are our four legged children.
This is Hallie, our 70 pound weimaraner, who doesn't like to have her picture taken. She's scared of storms, thinks the flash is lightening, and runs when we get the camera out.
This is Puppy, our 11 pound, long-haired chihuahua, who is a big dog in a little dog's body and believes she's Hallie's boss.
We have a rescued chinchilla, too. I'll post a picture of her (him ?) if I can get her to be still long enough. Wouldn't want her to feel slighted in case she visits the Off Topic Forum when I'm not looking.

Connie, Tiki looks just like my sister’s cat Colby (if you read what I said to CG, she has Colby and Jack).
CG- I rescued a cat a few years ago that looked just like your cat Jack…and I named him Jack! He showed up at our house and would cry at the window…if we left the room, he’d figure out where we were and go cry at the closest window. When we went up to our bedroom on the second floor, he’d perch on the rail of the deck on that side of the house (the closest he could get to our bedroom window) and cry. So we took him in and put up “FOUND CAT” signs all over the neighborhood. After a few weeks nobody had claimed him so I took him to the vet, got him fixed, and he was ours. Then two days later the owner called. They somehow hadn’t noticed the sign 50 feet from their front door with a picture of their cat on it for 3 weeks and I had to give him back. It was heartbreaking. They didn’t care about him very much and I hated giving him back. When the owners came to get him they said “why is he laying in the middle of the room like that, he usually hides all the time.” They also said that they had never heard a peep out of him, and he was the most talkative cat I’ve ever met. They had two untrained and ill-behaved dogs that terrorized the poor cat. That was 4 years ago and I still wonder about Jack.
Then a couple years ago my sister adopted a cat and named him Jack, so I have a nephew named Jack now.
alw1977- Greenlee has some extra weight too, but it’s all in her bottom half…my husband refers to her as our “pear-shaped kitty.” Her face looks so much like Ms. Toots! Here’s another picture of her with the others…this was a couple summers ago; the cats were fascinated when we put in a new slate patio:

And I would be remiss if I didn’t share this picture of Spencer next to our USVI map…he loves STJ too:

Hey Teresa - When our two kitties were found as wee babies, they had another brother, so they got named Manny, Moe & Jack (I don't know if you remember the Pep Boys or not). Moe got adopted and that left Manny & Jack. They were in cages at Petco since they were found a year ago, and the Petco people cut a hole through so they could be together. It wasn't until about February this year that they got fostered by the girl who cleaned their cage. Two months later we found them on Petfinders.com and fell in love with them! After having only 1 cat for the past 14 years (we normally have multiples!) we decided it was time for more than one so he/she wouldn't be lonely while we're at work.
Once we got Manny & Jack, we decided that "Manny" sounded too much like an L.A. gangsta name and Rick came up with the name Toby (I call him Tubby).

jmq - we have a sheltie too! This is Pippin (with my son when he was 1 year old). He's wonderful (aside from a couple of herding dog bad habits...)

And this is Cricket, mutt #2. She went blind about a year ago. She had lens replacement surgery 2 months ago and they were able to restore sight in one eye. She had her 2 month check-up this morning and everything looks good. Yay, Cricket!

It was a great idea starting this thread!! Kind of turned around our sad pet times on the forum into happy times. Everyone has such beautiful animals.

You mean the nipping at the heels thing? Subsided a bit with age. Was fun to watch when he was younger trying to herd up the kids in the yard. Funny to watch folks try to sweet talk a Sheltie that is not theirs. Shelties could not less about others outside their own family. But recently at the park a girl who was developmentally challenged came up to him and they instantly connected and he readily gave it up to her. I was amazed. How in the world do dogs sense that kind of stuff??
