Boating to jost

Post by MLS »

Last year we hired a power boat with captain to circumnavigate STJ. The captain, Kelly Klicker, K2, did a very nice job.
If we want to go from Cruz Bay to Jost this year, do we really have to go to Roadtown or West End to clear customs in Tortola first?

You can clear customs on Jost. It's much easier than going to Soper's Hole or Roadtown. Have a wonderful trip.

Rent the 21' Mako with the single Johnson 200 outboard from Ocean Runners, if there's only up to 3, 4 max. and drive it yourself...clear customs in Great Harbour grab lunch at Ali Baba's if its that time of day....if you get the chance head southeast to the north coast of Tortola to either cruise into Cane Garden Bay or to anchor right off shore there and stop at a beach bar, maybe a shop or two...Cane Garden Bay is beautiful, the beach is nice and calm, you'll have already been at the best beach on Jost at White Bay, as far as sand and seclusion go....Cane Garden offers more to do if you want that and its not as wild and rowdy as STJ....just a thought.....if you go right from Cruz Bay to Jost and not all the way around STJ you won't use as much fuel either....have a wonderful day.
