Packing
Packing
No matter how much I try, I still end up with too much "stuff".
How do you all do it? Doesn't seem like I have alot, just one of those small carryons with wheels, but this is rediculous.
I can take out a few things, but will it really make that big of a difference?

I agree, perfect list.
Use space bags, that helps, just make sure you get the ones that roll to get the air out as you may not have a vacuum at the villa for packing on the way home.
I can get all the stuff from that list, 2 pair sandals, toiletries, some books in the rolling carryon.
In the under-the-seat-duffel goes snorkel, mask, fins, book, snacks, snorkel bag and fanny pack (subs for purse, carrys book and water bottle).

I can only aspire to pack like you all,
perhaps someday when I don't need so much
footwear

Hubs has got way better though, When we 1st went
on vacation together MANY years ago while dating;
the man brought clothes for ALL types of weather. Sheesh!!
Hey Xislandgirl, I'm going to try and start with
your suggested list

Just keep reminding myself there IS a washing
machine and dryer!

Don't worry about it!! too much stuff is not a big deal. I do it allll the time and have the best vacations.Connie wrote:No matter how much I try, I still end up with too much "stuff".

We get every thing in our suitcases and basically most our food for a week in carry on. The key for us is to use two big backpacks that will fit under your seat you can stuff alot of crap into those things.Don't no what is supplied at your villa but towels, hairdryer stuff like that take up alot of room. If you have a washer and dryer you could take even less than X's list. Jorge who needs undies

I am a shoe whore but not on vacation. On the plane I try and wear a linen skirt and linen tank with a cardigan over it and nicer sandals. Then I pack 1 or 2 pairs of flip-flops and I am good to go.
Jorge- I do pack a few pair of undies, while commando is not unheard of for this girl, there are certain outfits this girl wears that have the need to keep things covered up

That should be enough for a week with or without doing laundry. But a washer/dryer definitely helps in the matter. I have to admit that X's list is just about exactly what I took and I DID end up doing a couple small loads of wash.SusanNJ wrote:Is this for if you do laundry on island? I just cant see this being enough for a week. JMHO. Then again I do tend to overpack.

It is enough without doing laundry. I get up and put on a swim suit and a cover up. We are beach bums all day. I get back to the villa and take a shower and change into something that I wear for a few hours at dinner and for a few drinks after. Unless I spill something on me, I will wear that outfit again another night.
We did laundry in April but that was only to brig home clean clothes.
