Boston Forum Gathering

Post by jayseadee »

The FIRST Boston Forum gathering was last night.

Lots of hustle and bustle in the city

Due to a Red Sox double header, some traveled via boat:

Eventually making their way to The Summer Shack

There was quite a crowd -

Jimg20 and jayseadee were honored with the "Most Likely to Attend" Award.

(jimg20 & Mrs. jimg20, Mr. jayseadee & jayseadee - as well as friends Sam and Stella)

The food was fabulous

Fried Shrimp

Wood Grilled Scallops

and the ever popular Fried Clams (with bellies)

We also enjoyed Boston Cream Pie and Bananas Foster for dessert. However, it was devoured before they had a chance to say "cheese"

It was a night of friendly conversation - Trunk vs Maho, ZoZo's vs Asolare, Snorkel vs Scuba, well, until the check arrived. :P :P

To top off the evening, the Red Sox won that doubleheader and jayseadee got a seat on the "D" line. :D

Those clams look so yummy...and now with red tide I bet they'll be off the market soon.

I thought 12 people were coming? Did you have a lot of no shows?
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Some might say that the fist fight over the check (no one want to pay it  ) marred the event. In the Back Bay during a Red Sox game it appears to be fairly common.

Thanks to everyone who helped pull it together and for those of you who missed it -- we drank to you......several times. :D

The next stop is the Beach bar in 6 days 4 hours and 3 minites ---- not that we're counting.

Man it's like some dream we live down here....

Meeting fellow forumites is always a treat! Glad you had a good time...the food pictures are making my stomach growl!! Reminds me of all the stuff I ate (and some I didn't) at Jazz Fest!

Great post...I'm really bummed I couldn't make it to the gathering, but perhaps the next time. I'm busy counting down to the wedding and our trip to the island. I loved the food porn...the clams would have been worth the drive from Vermont!
Still waiting to return to St. John!
