Tips on last minute travel?
Tips on last minute travel?
We wont know until the beginning of June if we will have the time to go away around June 15 (!)
Would like to do Virgin Gorda and Anegada this time around.
Trying not to think about it because the time may not open up, and even if it does, what are the chances I can find airfare that isn't insane and accommodations at my first or second choices?
While the notion of last minute travel has always intrigued me, are there any tips or tricks to it that any of you who have done this can share, especially re travel to the VIs?
Thanks

Ya know how it goes:
- Try to travel mid-week for cheaper airfare and better availability
- Factor in taxis and ferries when considering STT vs. EIS
- Anegada is an extra travel day, unless you take a charter from SJU or STT
- SJU has cheap airfare
- Charter flight from SJU to Anegada starts looking pretty good when compared against STT->taxi to Red Hook->Ferry to Tortola West End->Taxi to Road Town->Ferry to Anegada
- Neptune's Treasure is a sweet place to stay. Vernon Soares usually holds court in the bar around 4:30 or 5 for some iced red wine. Randy will make you a killer Dark & Stormy.
- Rent a car on Anegada, even if it is a short stay
- The ferry from Anegada to Virgin Gorda is about 45 minutes.
- Ferries to Red Hook from BVI all stop at C&I in Cruz Bay - might as well spend at least a night on St. John!
Finally, last minute travel is better than no travel. Just do it, pre-planning is for tourists!
