Best Day Sail/Trip to BVI's

Post by greyhoundmom »

O.K., experts! GHM needs your advice. Two in our July trip are certified divers and plan to do a day trip by themselves. We (the snorkelers) plan to do a half day dive/snorkle along with them. We all want to do a day sail/trip to BVI's as just snorkelers. What is your experience and who do you recommend? :?:

I recommend Lion in Da Sun for a great day trip. They are a powerboat, so you can visit multiple locations in the same day and set your own schedule. Their boat holds 6, I think...not sure how many you have total?

Capt Josh is a great and will take you anywhere..I loved our day which included snorkeling the Caves and Indians, lunch at Foxys Taboo, a visit to the bubbly pools, over to Sandy Spit, and, of course, stopping for a painkiller in White Bay. Can't beat it!

I recommend Capt John Brandi at Palm Tree Charters for the same type of trip. We have used him twice now and will be getting up with him again in July. He will let you plan your own trip or he can make recommendations. You can find him at palmtreecharters.com

We used Lion In Da Sun last week and were VERY pleased. Josh is wonderful! He took us to The Baths and was very patient with our group. We then had lunch at Pussers, snorkeled Monkey Point and over to Jost to Soggy Dollar. This was one of our favorite days.

We had a very good experience on Born to Rhumb in Feb 2008. Like RickG mentioned, the boat is large (12 I think) and we were very comfortable lounging about.
